The voltages are located on a sticker on the back of the PDP panel itself. Each panel is independant so no two sets will be alike. In most cases you can swing the vscan up or down by 10 volts to see what happens. Anymore than that can cause the set to shut down.

They mean... Vs = usually to do with Volts, usually denoting Vss, or Ground... Can also mean Voltage on the Source of a FET transistor. Vscan, = Scan Voltage. Vset, = Set the Scan Voltage, Ve, = Voltage again usually Vce meaning Positive Volts,. Can also mean Voltage ON the Emitter of a Transistor. But unless one can see the place in the circuit on the schematic, it is hard to tell.

Power board problum

Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Samsung PS42D7HD plasma TV has no pic no sound. Vs, Vg, Ve, Vscan, Vset volts are all correct. Heat sinks on X & Y boards are warm to the touch. RF In source and A/V In source have no output sound or...

Take your scope and see if you have any activity on the LVDS cable on the main digital board as you press the menu button or the menu on the remote. If you do not see anything then replace the main board. If you do then the plasma display panel is probably bad. Time for the bone yard.

LG 42PX3DCV 42 in.

Pixel misfiring (diffusion errors) are caused when the tv is not firing and erasing the pixels correctly. It can be caused by a number of things, usually a voltage or waveform is off somewhere. If you just bought the tv, return it and get another. If you are out of warrany, you can remove the back panel and run the tv to check the voltages. Don't touch the heatsinks! they're electrically hot and will zap you.. the voltages are labeled on the back of the plasma panel with a sticker. first check Vs and Va. sometimes you can check -Vy, Vset, Vscan and others if labeled on the board. If you have to adjust waveforms you need a very $$ o-scope and should get qualified technician to adjust. If a board is bad, its likely your power supply or Y-sustain pcb, and less likely your Z-sustain or contol (logic) board.

Blue Haze comes out the left side of screen top to bottom about 3 or 4 inches.

What needs to happen is three specific voltages need to be adjusted on the power supply, You need to set the Ve voltage to 100v, the Vset voltage to 188V and the Vs voltage to 190v. Monitor the set for 24 hours, if haze doesn't come back the unit is considered repaired. If haze returns, then the problem is with the panel itself and wouldn't be worth it to replace because it will cost more than the tv cost you originally

Samsung HP-R4252

Just check the voltages and refer to the sticker on the back of the panel (inside) Should read VA, VE, VS, VSET, VSCAN, VSUS,VSUSTAIN, ETC. And see which ones are missing then write them down and we will go from there. See if any fuses are blown as well. Just check those on the Ohm check. Or diode check is handy as well for this. Let me know if i can assist further. GURU JAY

Vscan voltages on LG Plasma

Are your sparkles mainly red pixels flashing randomly over the TV screen, especially over darker areas? If so your sparkles are I believe a discharge problem, and can be fixed with a firmware upgrade, which I think resets and corrects the voltage and removes the sparkles, which is caused by misfiring of the gases produced with plasma TV's. I have had my TV repaired with a firmware upgrade, which takes only 10-15 minutes and is reasonably cheap repair, and now the TV looks great, no more sparkles. Don't play around with the voltages let the pros fix it, also beware! leave this too long and it can become permanent, and need a new screen which is half the price of the a new TV.

Samsung sp-p4231

This is how I approach this problem: I check for menu appearing on the screen: If it has menu, I look at connections. If it does not have menu then I check voltages from the power supply. I check for the following voltages. VSCAN, VS, VE, VSET and VA. If only one voltage is there, then, the PCB that needs to be replaced is normally the SMPS and/or the Logic. If all the voltages are there, the Digital PCB should be replaced. If it is missing one voltage, I disconnect the Y Main and X Main from the power supply and check if the voltage reappears. This symptom is normally caused by one of these two boards having a short on the missing voltage line. The defective PCB and/or the Power Supply (SMPS) need to be replaced. If you are in need of a technician, contact Samsung at: 1-800-SAMSUNG If you have any other questions, reply to this post and I will respond.
