Its either clogged or overheating or internal fault . Do you have to press the red reset button each time.If so there is a fault with the motor and will need to go to electric motor specialist.

Our pool is about 90000 litres of water so how big filter do we need please

If you have a above ground pool go with the Cartridge or sand, and if underground go sand or D.E. All have their ups and down you should find out what you want from them specifically cause they all do varying amounts of the same thing.

Sand Filters
(Filters using literally sand)
For sand filters, on inground pools, I like to use a 30 inch tank diameter, which is a 4.9 sq. ft. filter surface area, and holds 600 lbs of sand. For small pools (under 20,000 gals), I might advise the next size down (24 inch tank), if the budget is tight. But never go smaller than a this for an inground pool.
Cartridge Filters (like a air filter)
I have a rule of thumb for cartridge pool filters. 100 sq. ft. of filter surface area per 10,000 gals of pool water, as a minimum. I like to see the 400 sq. ft. models on inground pools above 25,000 gals. These can go an entire season without cleaning in most cases.
D.E. Filters (Ground up fossilized algae)
Because they offer the most superior type of filtration, people tend to go small with DE, and buy a 24 or 36 sq. ft. DE filter. Ugh - go Big! Nothing below a 48 sq. ft. filter, and if your pool is over 25,000 gals, go with the Big Boy - the 60 sq. ft. filter.

Also make sure the filter can take the amount of water that the pump is pushing through it.

How much zeoclor in an LS 24 onga

Does not matter on pool size, but on the filter tank size!
Follow Zeo's label instructions, as they may recommend a reduction of their product vs. Sand, say 80% of recommended sand amount. Good luck

Pool pump motor not starting up

Does the pump hold prime when it's off? If a pump runs dry at first then primes it makes the pump and motor work harder. How many gallons of water is your pool?

I have purchased a new pool pump motor complete unit its a onga ppp1100-02 since i have had it it has had new brushes in the motor i think they said it was fusion you can hear the motor load up but not...

It could be the capacitor is bad. The capacitor stores up a charge of electricity which it discharges to start the motor without it the motor cannot start against a load. If the capacitor is good the internal switch may be sticky or faulty. It is located under the back cover of the motor. It is a centrifugal switch that starts the motor on the capacitor and start windings and as the motor spins up to speed switches to the run windings. Check to see that it operates smoothly. Hope this helps.

1/2hp Hayward Pump for existing inground pool

you will be fine with the 1/2hp. The Hayward will move quite a bit of water as well. It may not move as much water as the 3/4hp but it's very close and the 1/2hp will cost a little less to operate so if anything, you may just have to run it for one additional hour per day to compensate. You will be surprised how much water a 1/2hp will move. The only issue with smaller pumps is if you have pop-up cleaner heads or a suction driven automatic cleaner such as a kreepy krauly, however, if a 3/4hp will run it, a 1/2hp will run it as well. You can install a larger motor on the super pump but it will not move more water unless you upgrade the impeller as well. Just make sure you don't use a bigger impeller than what the motor is rated for because it will strain the motor and cause it to overheat. Hope this helps.

Onga sand filter pumps sand in to pool ,just got re connected to new above ground pool

The lateral(s) are damaged and allowing sand thru and back to the pool. I have never dealt with that specific brand to know if the laterals come as one assembly or individual pieces. You'll need to contact the dealer you got the unit from or check online at http://www.onga.com.au/dealerlocator for someone in your area.
