I have a MDB5130AWW model dishwasher and it has worked extremely well up until a week ago. Now there is water sitting at the bottom of the dishwasher, and the "Clean" and "Rinse Only" buttons are blinking. I've read the manual, and ran the Automatic Function test, and it seems that these two buttons blinking indicates a Motor problem, specifically a low current problem. Please Help!

You may have a seized/stuck motor. Turn the electricity off and remove the lower panels. Take a flat head screw driver and carefully attempt to move the motor impellers. If the impellers feel hard to turn continue to try and free the impellers. If they loosen, reactivate the power and start the appliance. Good luck!

Dishwasher won't drain. (Kenmore 3380957Rev A) It's been not draining that well for a couple of months, but then a couple of weeks ago, it just won't let the last inch of water out. --I can't see in...

The problem could be the pump, the drain hose or the timer. It will not drain if left to sit. The thing to try first is to put a cup of white vinegar in the machine and let it wash. This may remove sludge or scale blocking the strainer. 2nd take the hose loose at the sink drain and see if it is half clogged with grease or food. Check the hose and the nipple. Last, if it does not work take the bottom off the dishwasher. 4 screws and a plate. look for the pump and see if the hoses are clear. Sears will sell you a manual to repair and test this machine at its Parts Central on line

Water collecting at bottom of dishwasher. screens have been cleaned.

is there water sitting in the bottom of the dishwasher or on the floor? If its sitting in the bottom of the dishwasher, most likely the discharge pump isn't working properly and not emptying all the water out. The pump will usually run for an extended time to pump the water out until it finally times out and you're still left with water in there...

Ge dishwasher hums but will not work. is a 1999 model,,seldom use

When you use your dishwasher so infrequently the water inside evaporates and allows the pump seal to dry out, so there is no longer the lubricating water there. You may be able to solve this by pouring a couple cups of hot (not bioling) water directly into the center of the lower wash arm (center spray tower) and letting it sit for several minutes.
If that does not work, you can take the bottom panel off and turn the fan blade on the motor by hand until if turns freely. (don't do this with power to the motor or you may have some nasty banged up fingers !)

To prevent this from happening in the future, keep some water in the dishwasher by poring a bit in every now and then, or by running a fill and pump cycle at least once a week or so. If you are away for extended periods, you can try adding RV antifreeze to the dishwasher while away.

Maytag Dishwasher model # MDB5130AWW

I had a similar issue with my MDB5130AWW. The Wash was interupted and wouldn't come back on. Not knowing where to start I read some other solutions on this site and started by opening the bottom cover. Thats where I found a 4 page diagnostic / Electrical Schematic. Start with the Sales Demo mode of pressing the Rinse button 5 times within 5 seconds. I had to do it twice before the washer came "alive". I was estatic after reading about the $100 mainboard cost and maybe more for other parts. The document has other test and what different keypads mean when flashing. Thankfully I didn't have to go that far.
