My dishwasher was emptying very slowly. So slowly that the next fill cycle would start before the previous cycle's water was gone.I turned the machine over, and noticed a short length of metal pipe in the hose line that carried the water from the tub to the sink. There was what I believe a ground wire attached to this pipe,so this was for grounding the machine,I assume.Anyway,it was held to the rubber hose ends with simple spring clamps.I removed the clamps, and examined the interior of the pipe.It was half filled with scale! I used a screwdriver to clean out the pipe, put it back in place, and the machine empties normally again.

This is common, there may be a flood protection device that tripped in the line or sediment got into the system when the water was turned back on.
First turn the water off to the dishwasher. Take the hose or pipe off at the connection under the dishwasher, put a pan or towels under that open pipe. Slowly turn the water on and flush that line until clear. If no water comes out then you will need to do this but further back 'upstream'.
Once water comes clear, turn the valve off again reconnect the pipe/hose to the dishwasher and very slowly open the valve. If the water does not enter now you have sediment in the water inlet valve on the dishwasher itself and that valve will need replaced.
There is only 2 possibilities for the drum to fill with water after it has finished.
Firstly, if the empty pipe is connected to the sink outlet pipe, the water can syphon back into the washer if the pipe is too low, thereby slowly filling the washer when not in use.
Solution is to lift the outlet pipe higher.than the bottom of the sink.
The other reason is the inlet valve is not shutting off properly.
To prove if this is the case, turn the water off at the valve, if it is hot and cold fill, then turn the hot off only, and wait and see if water comes in over a period of time, if it does not then you need to replace the hot valve.
If water stills comes in with hot turned off, then you need to replace the cold valve.
If cold fill only , turn off cold and wait to see if any water comes in, if it does not, then replace cold valve.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.
the internal parts of the valve are sticking open randomley.the diaphram/piston in the valve most likley have lime deposits on it due to poor water quality.you would need the water valve assembly but before you buy this part i would look where the water line goes into the dishwasher and it will lead you to the valve.remove the valve from the unit and disassemble the valve.clean all the internal parts in the valve and reinstall.75% of the time this works ,if not change the valve.
Turned out there was a block on the clear short pipe that goes to a pressure sensor situated to the left at the front behind the front facia under the door which the engineer cleared by blowing it!! The pipe connects to a little stub that sticks out of the blue plastic flow control thing on the lhs of the dishwasher. U can access this by removing the lhs cover but not really necessary...
