Question about Master Replicas Star Wars Yoda Lightsaber .45 Scaled Replica

1 Answer

Hi My MR Lightsaber has broken. The outer shaft is fine it's the inner part. I think it's been left in the daylight to long and has become brittle and has therefore shattered inside. Can i get a new inner section ie the tube that goes in between the outer plastic and the foam inner?

My personal suggestion would be to go for these repair catalogs. I know this website that i used to buy them from, and
they sold online it was very good manual. Go ahead, I bet.

How do i replace the bottom bearing on a makita angle grinder/

This is tricky. The outer part is called the the outer race. The inner part is called the the inner race. You may be able the get the inner race off the shaft with a bearing puller. Sometimes you can clamp the inner race in a vice and tap on the shaft with a punch, trying not to damage the end of the shaft. The outer race is what is going to be tricky. You will have to try to get a small tool, like an Allen wrench inside the outer race and remove it by pulling on it. Maybe two wrenches would work better and pulled at the same time. Good luck with that.

Extremely loud noise when spinning. Sounds like dry bearing

If you have loud noises on spin it is quite possibly bearings.
You may also find that the inner drum becomes loose and may contact and wear the outer drum..
Replacing the bearings and possibly the shaft going through them is quite a big job. Best left to an experienced tech..
Get quotes before getting the job done. Check new prices also...
Good luck....Nomess

Starter shaft keeps breaking.. gone thru two , what else coul;d cause this shaft to break? thanks

I assume you're talking about the starter jackshaft. I'd suspect that there is a misalignment between the starter and the bushing in the outer primary. I'm reluctant to say this but you may have to pull the dowel pins out of the inner primary that are supposed to align the outer primary up with the inner. I've heard of them being improperly placed causing this misalignment.

Now, if for some reason you have the inner primary off, you may can bolt the inner and outer together without the starter on the inner and take it to a machine shop to have the alignment checked. I've never done this but I had one checked once. The machinist cuts a bar or tube that fits the jackshaft support bearing in the outer primary. It's long enough to protude up through the starter hole in the inner primary. With this, he checked the alignment of the primary covers. You may can just use the jack shaft to check it with, I have never tried that. I've done one like this but I can't say that I fixed it because the guy has not come back with another broken jackshaft. I think he would if he broke another one.

Good luck

The inner tub is out of balance and rubbing against the outer tub

The rear bearing is part of the back half of the outer tub. In some cases the basket will need replaced also if the shaft is scored. This is a big job. In most cases whirlpool will warranty the parts for 10 years but not the labor. Will need to check in your owners manual. Hope this helps

Worn outer tub

yea youl need to replace the tub alright, cgances are the bolts holding the inner tub to the transmission shaft have also broken off, which is why the inner tub spun off kilter and rubbed a hole in the outer tub,. the bolts (2 of them ) woulds have benn locking the inner basket to the tranny shaft, visible after removing the agitator

Changing inner drum

you must be fairly competent to have got this far! So! it now needs a bit of brute force. I assume you have removed the drive pulley? Now lay the unit down, 'pulley side uppermost', support the outer tub from the floor with a couple of bricks at either side to give floor clearance to the inner tub, use a piece of hard wood (to protect the shaft end) and give the wood a HARD BLOW with a 4 pound hammer. The shaft is just 'stuck' in the bearings. Dont mess around tapping the shaft end with a small hammer, you will only bruise the shaft end. As they WOULD say around here
