You have a shorted speaker wire, bad speaker or a bad output ic inside the unit. check the speaker wires and speakers for possible shorts. if possible you may want to disconnect the speaker wires and see if it still goes into protect. if it goes into protect with no speakers attached you have a bad output ic.

Kenwood car stereo is displaying Protect and wont come on

If ur kenwood stereo is going into protect mode, it is because one of ur speaker wires is shorting out. Make sure all of ur speaker wire connections are good, and then wrap them so they aren't grounding out against the chassis. This should solve ur problem.

It is on protected mode when i hit the reset button

Hi.

The unit goes on protected mode when an internal fault is detected.

Try disconnecting the battery cable for five minutes . If there is no fault you will clear protected mode.

If the unit still goes on protect, then check the wiring at the back, a short in there can trigger protectedd mode. If that does not work, then there is an internal fault. In that case the unit must be disassembled and tested.

Regards.

Have a kenwood car stereo, MP3. It has been stuck on on screen that displays protect and will not play anything.

You should disconnect the red wire that goes to battery. Leave disconnected for at least 8 hours so the player can reset. Most newer electroinics have these stupid protection systems that are way to touchy. I think companies just don't want us listening to loud music anymore.

Protect mode??

Check your speaker wire and terminals at the speaker, it's shorting. The receiver goes into protection to keep from causing damage to itself.

Solution is simple and no code is needed. Make sure all wirw are secures and not opening spliced. Ones verifying, make sure radio is turned off and reset the protect button.

The Protect Button is pin hole size and is located right above the headphone jack. Hence all shpuld be good from there on.

Display read protected and wont do anything

Usually, protect mode is enabled when the speaker output wiring has shorted together or is touching ground/+12V. I would verify that none of the speaker wiring has come loose.
