My LG Venus VX880 USB data cable won't seem to connect to my computer. I've tried it on a couple computers and it's the same thing - it only starts charging the phone. When I go to tools -> Connect it keeps showing a message that it can't find a cable connection. Do note that this is a new retractable cable (compatible nonetheless), as I lost my old one months ago. I am ultimately trying to connect my phone to bitpim (I have done it before a long while back, so I know I can). I do have the drivers, and bitpim, installed on my laptop. Help?

You dont need any software for these things. Your phone can be connected as memory card in computer and then you can move files just like a normal usb drive.
Connect your phone to computer with data cable. Go to settings, Connections, data cable Select Mass memory instead of modem.,
You will see your phone in computer just like a usb drive. You can copy music files and takee images from it.

If you have bluetooth on your computer then you can connect this way, if not go buy one from your local retailer and pair it up with your computer, there should be an option in the PC Suite for your Shine to connect by bluetooth failing this get on Ebay and buy a cable for a couple of quid

First thing you should do is download the latest driver for it. That is the number one reason a device wont be detected by PC. The second reason is a bad cable or loose connection

If you know someone who has a USB data cable for PSP, please borrow and test it with your PSP. USB cables has 4 wires, 2 for power (+5V and GRD) and 2 for data (+ and -). With PSP, the power and data wires are separated and has different input on the PSP, if 1 of the data wires is damaged, it will look like the cable is ok but it couldn't transmit and receive data properly. In your case, I think your PSP is can transmit but couldn't receive a reply from your PC.

Let me know if the borrowed PSP USB cable don't work.

try whit usb cable comming whit phonne . if you have this cable plug into usb port on you computer and chec if you phonne charge now. if not call back
