What is the non-electronic port on the lft side of my Toshiba Satellite L15-S104 for? It is right near the 'Designed for Windows XP' sticker.
I think that you mean the "PC card slot". It's a slot for using with some kind of external accesories. For example some could use it for a firewire card slot, so that can connect a firewire on the laptop. Here is the left side of your laptop

This is most likely the security slot commonly referred to as a Kensington Security Slot. It will allow you to secure your notebook to a tethered lock.
