Have a siegler 5030 wall furnace-Furnace is warm but not blowing well. I was told that if bird cage is in wrong it will not blow air properly. Is this correct?

The squirrel cage blower wheel is installed only one way. If unit worked fine before and no has tried to repair it look else where, possible intake is blocked by dirt, dog hair etc.

How do you remove the wheel off the blower motor on a 1991 GMC 1500

Is your cage held on with a spring clamp or a Nut? Is it rusted on? They will pull off but sometimes you need a little pent. oil and a hammer. Or you can return the motor and ask for one with a blower cage. Some cages are mounted on the shaft and are not removeable

2002 Envoy Blower A/C noisy

You may have to take the blower motor out and look for debris in the box or a problem with the squirrel cage.

Blower motor has a noise like a leaf is in the blade

It is very possible that the blower motor squirrel cage housing has leaves in it, they get in there from the air intake for the system at the base of the windshield. Remove the blower motor from the housing and clean out the leaves. These leaves also pose a fire hazard and I've seen that a few times, the heat source is the blower motor speed dropping resistor in the air duct near the blower motor squirrel cage housing, it can ignite the leaves, this can cause at the very least smoke coming out the vents, which can be a little exiting on the freeway.

I have an everstar portable a/c and first thing is were can i get the part that hooks on the back to vent out hot air? second thing is the blower motor rattles as it is spinning what can i do to solve...

I had the same problem with mine rattling when the blower cage inside started to spin. What it happening is the vertical fins on the blower cage are plastic....when the cage starts to spin, the blower fins flex outward from the centrifugal force. Whel when that happens the fins hit up against the enclosure that sits around the blower cage. Be careful because once a fin grabs and snaps off, it will take the rest of the fins with it and then you will need a new blower cage. So heres what I did....I took three large rubber bands and put them around the outside diameter of the fins, this keeps them from bowing outward. You can also use zip ties if you want, they dont lose their elasticity.....just be sure to snip the end of the tie off. The blower cage is inside the cover and is easily identified because its Blue in color.

Hope this helps..

Blower didnt work yesterday morning but in the afternoon it did. Now dosent work again. The fuse is ok.

I assume you mean the heater - it could be something is lodged in the squirrel cage - take it over a bumpy road and try again. I had this happen with my prior car - something from the glove box fell behind the box and got trapped in cage - we pulled it out and it worked fine.

the blower motor is under the passenger side dash board.

Good luck!

Take a long time for blower motor to get up to speed

The first thing I would do is to clean motor and squirrel cage. It would be best if you would remove it and take it somewhere that you had a air compressor to blow out motor ports and fins on squirrel cage. Most of the time you can remove by disconnecting modular plugs and removing two or more screws on rail that squirrel cage slids on.
If you can get it out you can use a fine wire brush to loosen dirt and dust from fins on cage then use air to blow out as much as you can.
Your motor may be getting worn so check the bearing by grasping cage and see how much it will slide side to side and if it moves more then about1/8 inch then you are going to need to replace it before much longer. Also make sure that the rim of squirrel cage is not rubbing on blower housing and if it is then loosen motor mounting screws and adjust ,then retighten screws.
I hope this helps you. Thanks

The air conditioner has a roar so loud I can barely here my TV.

This roar sounds like the bearings going bad on the electric blower motor.. Does the unit cool just fine ? If so then the blower wheel that moves the air is rubbing against the cage and needs to be adjusted. Turn power off to the unit and remove the front cover where the motor is.. Spin the fan wheel by hand and see if it is hitting the sides.. If it is the cage with motor is being held in usually by one or two screws at the front on the top where the cage is suspending from. With theose removed the cage will slide out and usually wiring can stay connected. There will be a square head bolt that is keeping the blower wheel in place. Spray some penetrent on the threads and let sit for a few minutes. Then use a box end wrench or crescent wrench that is the correct size and loosen bolt by turning counter-clockwise.. WHen wheel will spin on shaft see if you can tap the blower wheel in the correct direction to loosen from hitting the cage. Connect everything back in the opposite manner of course.

Ruud silhouette #UHDG-07EAUER won't heat house

Cleaning the flame sensor has nothing to do with blower motor not turning on. You either one of the following problems 1 bad cap for motor. 2 bad motor. 3 bad limit on blower housing or 4 a bad board. You will need a volt meter to check for these problems. Try seeing if the fans runs with unit of and fan switch turned to on. Also does motor hummmm. Is motor cage free ( can check by manually turning) If motor doesnt humm and the cage is free wheeling then you will need to find out if you have power going to the motor. If you find out that you do then you will need to change blower motor. If you do not have power then you will need to check limit with continuity tester on volt meter. If that checks fine only 1 thing can be wrong and that is the board.

Ruud Problems

ive seen this this year several times. first off take the combustion blowe loose from the ducting and look inside to see if theres any thing causing the blower to not run (water) what happens is that the flue gasses condense and run back into the blower then when it trys to start its binded.let me know if this does not solver the problem and we can get more into the furnance.
