Intermittant breakdown of connection

Hello
I have an acer lap top and netgear system.For months now i cannot stay connected.I have to refresh after a few minutes all day to get connection back,log of or shut down and start up again to get connected.Some days it stays connected longer.It states signal strength good or excellent most of the time
Any help would be great

Try going to the usb and the wireless adapter in device manager, properties. And make sure that the computer does not shut them off to save power.

If you're connecting the device you're watching netflix with wirelessly, check the strength of the signal your device is getting from the router, netflix needs a strong connection and the download speed you'll need for it is 1.5mbps or greater. If both your signal and download speed are fine try unplugging your Netgear and your Zoom from the power for about 5 min. to refresh your connection

I want to connect my lap top to a wireless Netgear

You need to do exactly that.

From your web browser type in 192.168.0.1 put in you user name and password.

Your control panel will come up then you got to wireless settings and turn it on and set a Wep key, write that down then rebboot the router or save the settings.

go to your lappy now and open up your wireless card on the tak bar and search for your netgear click on it then enter that key, You should be good.

Check the security settings on the laptop to be sure they are the same as is configured in the router. Network Authentication is either WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK, and the passphrase must match. You can login to the router by accessing 192.168.0.1 from a browser that is connected to the router by a ethernet cable, look for the sercurity settings page and you know how it is setup.

Solution to intermittent wireless connection is change the wireless channel of the router. Usually the default channel is 6 which is prone to interference. You may try channels 11 and 1. They are the next strongest channel of the router. Try to reset the router first.
