Xps m1330 died - Dell XPS M1330 Laptop

    Thanks Mr. Suresh but it just died and won't even turn on when you press the power button. A friend told me the motherboard is grounded because the power supply's blue light is on when you plug it to the wall socket but when you plug the other end to the laptop, the blue light goes out. The same thing happens when I try plugging in a new power supply.

Does it boot ?

dead ? cant u even c anything on the screen..?
u can revice it back....if u can go into BIOS immedialty while switching on....
press DEL / F1 / F2 / Ins/ .....any one of this key to get to BIOS
look for the boot sequence...
u can make changes to make it bootable from CDROM / DVDROM
make the 1st boot seq to CDROM
then save the changes to BIOS by pressing F10...save and exit comand can also do it.
then insert the WIN xp install CD in the CD drive and swithc on again...
let it boot from the CD
if it does then u can re-format the disk and install the OS

Have you tried using the Eject button on the controls above the Function keys on your Dell XPS M1330 laptop to eject the disk from the optical drive?

If the above does not solve the problem then you may need to refer to the Service Manual for your XPS M1330 which has information on how to remove and replace the Optical drive if this has failed.

The sreen of my DELL XPS M1330 suddenly does not lght up!


It can be either the display is dead or it is a loose connection. If you are still covered by warranty then I would suggest you to contact the dell technical support. They will replace the part for you.
However if you don't have a warranty then you can buy this part from dell online store (the display) and you can fix it on your own - http://ahwee.com/how-to-disassemble-laptop-dell-xps-m1330 follow the instructions here to dismantle your laptop and refix it with the new parts. If you find any troubles doing so; please let me know; I will help you further.

DELL XPS M1330 battery is not detected.


Boot to the BIOS and see if the battery status shows normally there. If it does, try uninstalling and reinstalling the quickset utility.

If the battery status doesn't show normally in BIOS then you will likely need to replace the battery.

Dell XPS M1330 Laptop can't boot to windows, when running express test, got error code 0F00:137B when re-install the vista, it stop at "Expanding files (0%)" long time ...


if you bought this from dell, use the restore disks that came with it starting with disk one. you wont be able to save your files bt at least you will have a usable computer. i have an XPS studio 16 and had to do the same thing.
