My tv I have had my tv for about 2 1/2 yrs or so. We haven't had any problems until now. Just out of the blue the tv came on by its self. We would turn it off, it would come right back on. So we unplugged it, it was 2 in the morning or a little after. We had to get up early the next morning. Now the tv remote will not work at all. The front of the tv-the power button will not turn on or off. The channel or volumne button turns it on and off. The tv when you have it on you turn the channel it cuts off. You have to turn it back on. then find the channel and keep doing the same thang. On, channel up, the tv cuts off, channel up the tv cuts off. What is wrong, I don't have the money to get it repaired. Its an arc why anit it working they are suppose to be a good tv.

Power surge from storm. Power light turns on for 2-3 seconds and goes off. Previously had a power supply replaced 3 yrs ago. tv is approx 12-15 yrs old.

MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ONFOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device" and "menu"buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protectthe Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergenceIC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES ANDTHEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOUHAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

let me know what you find--hope that you find 2 blinks, a pause and twoblinks--this is the most common and easiest to fix.

before you rate this information or if you have questions let me know what you find.

We have a blue spot just below center, not extremely annoying just there. Light engine was replaced 2 1/2 yrs after tv bought. TV only 3-4 yrs old. Thanks for any help.

This blue is caused by magnetic fields. Either the speakers of tv is faulty or demagnatziser not working. Switch of tv and remove powercord from wallsockets. Leave for about 10 hours and plug in powercord and switch on. if demagnatiszr is working the blue will be gone. if not have youre tv demagnetized

If hometheatre or radio speakers are closer than ½ meter this could also generate coulouration of screen. move speakers further away. If tv is on and and being moved your static electricity can also cause this. So switch of if if you move your tv.

STB won't work, TV works well without it

Blue screen means tv is not getting signal. Either stb is not working or you are not connected to it correctly; check the cabling.

TV Turning on and off by its self

You have problems with a condenser that allow the power supply to maintan an acceptable level of voltage in order to keep the TV on. take to a tech to be fixed. unfortunatelly, this problem needs a tech to take measures in the circuitry to find the component that causes the problem.

Blue wide streaks in my 42" Sony TV model KDFE42A10.

I have the same TV and the same problem and it's also just over 2 years old (bought it June 2006) when the problem started. Every day, I saw the blue streak cover more of the tv, now 6 months later, it has all turned to green and the entire tv has a green tint. It looks like I am watching tv in murky green water.
I am lucky that I purchased the additional warranty on the tv and finally got around to calling them. I hate to tell you this, but they told me that the optical light has gone up and they are replacing the tv.

Mitsubishi rear projection tv

Good Day, xraykid;
The problem with the TV is that it's mad at you for selling it to another family and now it's only sad once the TV came home. What you need to do is to talk to it for several weeks..............

Just joking, but the problem with the TV according to garth is:
SHUTDOWN AT POWER Cause #1 This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR LEAKY C9A60 470 PF 1000 V PART # 154P400030, PARALLEL TO D9A57 ON THE POWER PCB (NOT SHOWN IN THE SCHEMATIC). 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. The real problem may be fluid from the crt's, picture tubes, look for fluid on the PCB towards the front of chassis.
Good Luck, big IRISH, e me first, then will help via phone,[email protected], Iwant to help you , that happened to me b4.
