Data Becker Music CD Recorder 3.0 won't run on my new computer

I loaded the software into my new computer, and now I get the message "Driver initialization error. Programming interface could not be initialized." Followed by the message "Runtime error '-2147418113 (8000 ffff)':
Method '~' of objest '~' failed."

I think I've figured out what the 4 f's stand for, but what can I do about it?
I had this program on my old computer and it worked fine for converting my LP's and tapes to CD's. My new computer is running Windows XP, as did my old one.

The manual directed me to www.databecker.com. But Ich spreche kinderdeutsch. I speak only childish German, not geek German.

Help?

If you are using Vista it won't run on it. I am having the same problem and looking for an update of it. I have used it on XP with no problem.

New CD-R discs read Data Only. Can the Sony RCD-W100 be adjusted to record with today's crop of CD-R discs?

Were these discs labeled CD-R Digital Audio? This compact disc recorder can't record to CD-R data disc for computers. See the manual on page 7. The manual is available here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4246/42460761M.pdf .

Apparently, there is a header section on CD-R Digital Audio discs that tells the RCD-W100 that the disc is for audio recording. The work-around would be to process your audio files on a computer and then write the music to the CDs that you currently have.

I wish that I had better news for you.

How to download gospel music to cd

You can download gospel music firstly and then burn the downloaded music to CD. Just follow below steps. There shows the easiest way to do that.
Leawo Music Recorder is an excellent music recording program which allows you to record music freely from gospel music

1. Run Leawo music recorder on your computer and then you will enter the main interface of music recorder. Press on the icon button "Audio Source" on this main interface and preset audio source before recording music. As we need to record music from online music source like YouTube, the option "Record Computer Audio" should be selected.

2. Press on the red button "Start" to make Leawo Music Recorder start to work. Then click and play music source files. To make the recordings to meet your requirement, the feature "Task Scheduler" can be pulled out from the left bottom corner by clicking on the icon button "Recording Task Scheduler", where the start time and the duration can be set to your preference.

I CANT RECORD CASSETTES ONTO A FLASH DRIVE

You can't. Cassettes are analog and the USB only recognizes MP3. The USB will only record off a normal CD or a CD with MP3s on it. It won't record other formats. The unit only allows to record from CD to cassette or from CD to USB. There are some cassette decks that will convert to MP3. Just do a search for "cassette to MP3 converter"

HI when i put disk in cd rom drive the computer only reads for about 3 seconds and then the message says insert a disk..my son has been burning a lot of disks lateluy and not sure why it broke so soon,only...

Loading new device-drivers will not help.
In the first few seconds, the drive is trying to read the first few blocks of data from the media, to see if it is a "data" or "music" or "blank" CD. If nothing can be read (dead laser?) then you get the "insert a disk" message.

> do I need a new unit?

Yes; spend $40 to buy a new CD/DVD reader/writer.

Pioneer PDR-609 CD Recorder. - My recorder frequently fails in the middle of a recording -it stops recording and says 'check disk' in the display. I have several different types of disc (I usually use TDK...

I don't have a stand-alone cd recorder but like many people I have burned discs on the computer and had many disappointments. While some disc drives are clearly better than others, for no apparent reason, there does seem to be more reject discs with some software than others.
Particularly disappointing is the Nero burning software that performs well when it is first installed but seems to deteriorate fairly quickly with every computer restart. I know nothing about such things so I am only guessing the cause might be that Nero displaces some Windows components and Windows seems to try repairing itself when booting.

Like most things these days, especially digital things, your cd recorder is in fact a computer that depends entirely on the software loaded into it, software that could degrade or become corrupted over time.
While it is possible the disc drive (laser perhaps) has become less potent it wouldn't be unreasonable to suspect the software and I suggest you contact Panasonic.
It is probable, like many things requiring software, early versions were found to have problems and would be periodically updated.
