I CANT SWITCH IT OFF PERMANENTLY
To turn off the i-mate JAM permanently, just switch off by pressing the power button. This makes it to go in the sleep mode. Now open the back cover of the phone. This usually switches it off. Or you can just remove the battery too.

How many years now is your I-mate? Normally, we need to change batteries every 1 year, especially if we are using much of our PDA. I suggest that you should change for a new battery, but if the problem still comes, better check with your tech guy to see software and hardware status.

My i-mate k-jam IS NOT TURNING ON!!!
take your imate kjam battery out, then get 3 aaa battery connect them like this

-//////+-////+-////+ connet a wire on the negtive side of the aaa batterys and a wire on the postive side. then connect the wire to the imate battery, you will see a red dot which postive and black dot which negtive and keep it connect for 30 sec and then put back the imate battery back (it should start)

the imate battery looks like this

HARD RESET PROCEDURE
hold down the power button and push the reset. You don't have to use a paper clip if you've styles fits, but don't use anything sharp, such as a safety pin. This should return your PDA to the way it came from the box.
