Canon pixma mp830 not printing yellow.

My canon printer head acts like it is plugged. It will not print yellow at all, not even a tint of yellow. The other colors seem to be fine, except they are missing the yellow part of the color. I have ran all the print head cleanings and deep cleaning cycles without a bit of improvement. I also have changed the cartridge (I use knock off cartridges and replace the chip). I have used these cartridges for over 2 yrs without any trouble. Anyway, I was wondering what my next step should be. Is a print head replacement the next step, sure are expensive! Thanks

I'm also having the same exact problem - just the yellow color - no idea what's going on. I removed the head and manually soaked & cleaned the inner connection points with an alcohol swab, then the actual heads - did the yellow part twice, primed the yellow (full) ink cartridge, and then nothing - still no yellow.

My parents have the Canon MP830 printer. All the ink cartridges are in correctly but I cannot get it to print yellow & blue. I did a test print & cleaned the nozzle then did another test print...

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

Canon Pixma yellow color problem

Either the ink you are using is not going to give the color you want, or you have print heads that are blocked.

Incorrect printhead

It just means that the printhead is defective, All of the Canon machines say that when the printhead goes out.

Canon mp830 not printing in color

It is possible that your print head may be clogged. Even though you have ink, if the print head is clogged it would not print anything of certain colors. I believe this device has separate print heads so you should consider either replacing them or cleaning them according to the manufacturers suggestions. There are detailed instructions in Chapter 10 - Page 148 of the manual. If you don't have the manual, it is available online at

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=123&modelid=12804#DownloadDetailAct

Download the "User's guide" towards the bottom of the page.

Hope this helps - Flub

Canon MP830 print head

If you purchased the printer new, you would have had to install the print head before youput the cartridges in. The print head id he bit the cartridges clip into. So to remove the print head:
Open the cover, take out all five print cartridges and then lift the lever on the left of the print head and remove print head.
Hope this helps!

My canon mp830

Error code 5200 means the print head temperature is too high. The only was to resolve this error is either replace the print head or replace the logic board. The print head is available, part number QY6-0061 but you will struggle to find a logic board. The only other thing you can try is resetting the EEPROM on the logic board, this sometimes clears the error. A service manual will show you how to do this: http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/4546483-canon-pixma-mp830-printer-service-manual
