Go on ebay and finda br1225 replacement, with legs, my DJ580T has the one with one leg on top and one on the bottom with yellow plastic shrink-wrap around the edges of the battery. you have to take the radio to smithereens, ie take off bottom battery plate, take off all knobs - pull straight off, take off antenna, take out all 3 screws on body of radio, then carefully work back off and over the pots where you took off the knobs. there was no marking on my battery, but it is the button-looking thing with the yellow plastic around the edge. carefully de-solder old, put new in, then carefully reassemble radio. top edge has rubber seal, be careful it is in place, if twisted radio will not go back together. battery is about $5 shipped, on ebay. Hi guys, my alinco dj596 cannot receive but can transmite, how i solve this problem?

Hi,

Which one is it? ALINCO or MOTOROLA?

DJ 596 indicates ALINCO, and they are two totally different radio makes. Alinco is a great Japanese brand, any way to get to your query....

I'm only guessing due to lack of info from you, that you've tried the volume controls on your radio?

If so, has this problem only recently occurred or has it been present since you got the set?

This is info we need to be able to assist you.

Cheers,
Peter

Looses frequencies when programmed

if it loses the frequencies immediatly then it sounds like the capacitor that holds the charge for the memory has gone out. If it is sitting for a few days and loses frequencies this is more common. Solution, if you've had it less than a year, take it to your local radioshack, try to find the receipt and have them send it to the repair center for you.

Alinco dj-v5 HT deviation adjust

To adjust the deviation of this radio, you don't have to take it apart. If you take the battery pack off, there is a sticker on the back of the radio saying Alinco. Pull that sticker off and underneath are the variable resistors. See the service manual for more details on how to make other adjustments.

First, make sure you note the present position of this pot so you can turn it back if you have to.

If you don't have any equipment to measure deviation, make a contact on the repeater and try turning the pot in small increments and ask the person to help you set the deviation so your voice sounds good through the repeater.

Once set, if the repeater has a touch tone test, go through and make sure all your tones are being properly decoded.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!
