Haier 42" plasma, pic went out

Same problem as a couple of the others. I have no picture but I still have sound, is there a solution for this issue

    The screen just went black on our Haier plasma monitor model 42EP24S. We still have audio. What kind of suggestions does anyone have?

    We've had the 42EP24S Haier plasma for 2.5yrs with little time on it. We used it for our movie television. Less than 10hrs a week. Picture went black sound still on. Bought at Sears. What a piece of $#%^&*!!. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER.

These Haier TVs go bad and I always install the repair kit part #?TV-3940-01
It includes the scan boards and an upgraded IC .
I can not find any kits in stock, but I know there some available online if you search or call a few places.
Mat electronics or sears parts direct may have some.

42" haier plasma with sound and black screen!
Usually you have to be a certified technician of the manufacturer to order and receive those parts. It comes down to insurance reasons because if you were to install them yourself and the TV burned the house down and you were to perish, the company would be liable. As frustrating as it is, you will likely not get the parts. Are you saying that Haier will not provide a service technician for an out of warranty repair or at least point you in the right direction? That's poor customer service and I would think twice about purchasing from them again.

Plasma tv picture went black
I would say you dont need to repalce Servcie kit.kit is only for 42EP24S units.
examine your unit What is the problem?Is the blue indicator on?If indicator on you will have audio.
In this case I would check first Y-sus board or Z-sus board.

No picture but has sound
With all the listed sets,itis most likely the y-drive(sus) board.The only problem is that this board usually fails when the horz.buffer ic's fail,which is usually part of the plasma display.This was a semi-common problem with this set.The best bet is to find a new set,since the parts alone will exceed the cost of a new one.Pioneer or nec seem to be the most reliable that i have seen.

Screen went black but i have sound
i was watching tv and in the middle of the show the screen went black, but there still was sound. i turned it off thinking it was the cable for that program and when i turned it back on several hours later it still had no picture all connections are good.

My Haier TV
Mine is a Haier 42in Plasma and the same thing just happened 12/31/07 - almost 2yrs old to the day. Picture went black in the middle of a movie. Sound works. There is power, remote will seem to turn on/off but screen remains black. What are standard repair costs that can be expected? I will call the 877 number tomorrow and will update with what I find out.
