Incorrect paper size so fax was received in

Screen shows "incorrect paper size". All faxes are now just being received in memory. I can't get it to print the document even if I change the paper size setting. Also, I pulled the plug on the machine, but still it came up with the same message on the screen after plugging it back in.

Alarm light (red) is flashing.

check the paper sensor at the bottom of where the paper comes out! this has a tendency to pop out of its little holder. Use a flashlight to see it! the sensor is blocking the beam.

Shows receive in memory, check paper size

Either the paper size in the fax machine is wrong or there is not enough paper left to print the fax. Add paler and the machine will print the faxes held in memory.

MX-310 has fax's in memeory but keeps printing the first page of the first fax only. Screen says check paper size. When i push ok it only will print the first page over and over. How do I change it?

If your Canon MX-310 has been set up to print faxes as they are received, then what is actually in memory is a "received fax report". If you select a particular fax in this report, it will print the first page of the fax to remind you of the content.

Your Canon MX-310 will store fax documents in memory if:
  • Ink is low or has run out
  • The paper size and type is not set correctly
  • Paper has run out
  • The Output Tray is closed

Fax

From the manual:

If ink has run out while receiving a fax, if the paper size setting is incorrect, or if the paper type is set to a type other than plain paper, the fax is automatically stored in memory and <Received in memory.> is displayed. When the ink tank is replaced or the paper size/type setting is corrected, the stored fax is printed automatically.

Also, if the machine is in the process of something else (printing from computer, making a copy, scanning to computer), when a fax comes in it will be saved to memory, but it should print within a few minutes of becoming idle again.

Received fax's are not printing. Unit prints confermations and is working as a printer but recieved fax's just park in memory and will not print.

TYPICALLY A FAX MACHINE WILL RECEIVE MESSAGE IN MEMORY WHEN NO PAPER OR TONER/INK FINISHED INDICATION IS THERE, REPLENISH THESE SUPPLIES WITH GENUINE ONES AND FAX WILL START PRINTING. IF PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED , PLEASE TRY TO CLEAR THE SETTING FOR MEMORY RECEIVING, IF STILL NOT SOLVED TRY BRINGING THE MACHINBE TO FACTROY SET SETTING BY CLEARING THE MEMORY. HAPPY FAXING OMNIPRESENT
