I am using Intel D865GBF board having Dual Channel DDR400/333/255 SDRAM memory support. It is of 3GHZ, 256 MB RAM. The other day I bought 1GB RAM of Transcend and tried fitting the same. But the PC never...

Yes it can support 1GB ram. Max capacity up to 4GB of ram, meaning 1GB each on each slot. Make sure that the memory that you will be installing are either DDR400, DDR333 or DDR266. It could be the RAM is faulty if the one you bought is the DDR's that I mentioned

Ram when i upgrade 128 sdram to 256 sdram in intel 845glly it shows spd

It is not seieng the ram, try swapping the ram around or leave out the 128MB, just put in 256MB, if no boot then the ram is not compatible or faulty, not all ram sticks work in all motherboards.

Probblen in Additinol RAM

Hi Raj_jp, the Intel D845GLLY board must have SPD memory to function correctly in the system. The memory you added (512MB) must not support SPD. To help you understand what SPD is, you can click on this link which explains what SPD is.
http://searchcio-midmarket.techtarget.com/sDefinition/0,,sid183_gci533524,00.html#

The memory sold in this next link will function in you're Intel motherboard. http://www.memory-up.com/Memory/IntelD12696.html
So will the memory in this next link.

If you bought the 256MB memory recently, you should be able to return it & have it exchanged. The link above also lists the part number for the memory.

Good Luck!
Remember you're Intel motherboard uses you're system memory to run the onboard video card. The total amount of memory the video card uses can be adjusted higher or lower. You can adjust this in the bios. Go to Advanced Menu. Page 40 in the Intel user manual. You can download you're manual at this link.

Intel D845GBV Motherboard Problem

PC1600 runs at 200MHZ and PC2100 runs at 266MHZ..

Since your motherboard only supports a max of 266MHZ, I would recommend that. (not to mention that PC1600 is pretty much obsolete)..

2nd, you motherboard supports a MAX of 2GB Total ram.. So, you could install 1GB + 256MB.. But why not go for 2xGB?

The price for a 1GB stick of PC2100 is around $75-125 CAN. Not soo cheap anymore...

Motherboard is dead

remove the RAM. boot minimal only (floppy). get to BIOS screen. reset to factory default. try again with boot floppy. if ok, re-install RAM and repeat
