I have a similar crib by Rita Bella. This is what worked for me.
1. Remove drawer. 2. Face crib's drop-side. 3. On left side of crib (based on you facing the drop-side) locate two allen head screws close to you. Unscrew them. A piece of wood in the front will drop. This is normal. 4. Push left side of crib outward (about 1/4") until you can see the metal pin that controls the locking function of the drop-side. It is near the bottom. 5. Pull out the bottom part of the drop-side so it's not in the plastic groove area anymore. This should get the right side out as well. 6. Tilt the drop-side -- the bottom part should swing toward you. When it is completely tilted, you will see the wooden groove in the side of the crib, and you can then remove the drop-side pretty easily. 7. Replace the screws. You may need an extra pair of hands to get all the parts in place. 8. Replace the drawer.

This is the older model of the 343-8200 JCPenney spindle. ... instructions for the convertible JCPenney baby crib 343-8200, alert us to crib recalls and to ... would beneeded to convert the crib into a daybed and afterwards into a full-size bed.
I am not sure if you have solved your problem yet, but all you have to do is slide the front side of the crib off the hinges. The rail that slides up and down, will come all the way off, turning it into a daybed.
I haven't been able to find my instructions either, so I figured that much out. Now I am trying to figure out how to convert it to a regular size bed. :- (
I just went on to the Storkcraft website for Canada and found some installation instructions. There are instructions for the initial set up, for converting to a toddler bed, and converting to a daybed. Here's the link . On the right side there are 3 links for Assembly instructions. The first is the initial assembly, the second shows the toddler bed and daybed assembly, and the third is a complete installation manual. Hope that helps!
I've got the same issue. It doesn't seem like there's any way to attache the toddler rail. Anyone have instructions on this?
