Hi, Im using a Dell D600, my wireless connection seems to work fine at times n other times just refuses to catch any connection. I know it isnt a problem with my Netgear router as my other laptop works perfectly fine using wireless. My problem is intermittent. Don't know to the get it working. The wireless connection on my D600 shows 'Network cable unplugged' & 'Out of range' on my Intel Adapter. Any suggestions on what to do? Here is something that seemed me to stop the drops.
in WAN Setup, in the advanced section of the router, i set the NAT filtering to open. it defaults secure. it hasn't dropped all day. that is with 4 computers and my ipod connected to it.

The RESET button is for resetting the wireless section of the router and does not effect the Internet connection. It looks like the wireless access is faulty especially when you cannot reset and configure the wireless settings. Try powering off the Netgear for 10 mins the connect the power again. If you still cannot RESET the Netgear then it is faulty and you need a new wireless router.
No you cannot. To make your printer a network printer you need to connect your printer to a network print server and the connect the print server to the Netgear using a LAN cable.
check if you have wireless WPA key enable, change in every 15 days the password, normaly you have open connection to all neighbours who like to use your internet connection. and you pay the bill.
Try turn OFF DHCP, START>>RUN>>service, msc enter, scroll down to DHCP, set to OFF & Disabled, also further down Windows Zero configuration, again OFF & Disabled.. reboot, try that.

The best way to make the wireless connection stable is to do some changes on the wireless settings of the router , like changing its wireless channel to the highest one to avoid any interference on your area.........
with the router connected, open Internet Explorer and type http://192.168.1.1 after you log in there is a option on the left for firewall and you can turn it off. If it were me I would use the routers firewall over a software firewall though. By the time a software firewall detects a hack, its already in the PC.
