TV Flickers up and down and screen is shifted to the right w/ red color dominating the screen.

I have a 2004 Hitachi 51G500A rear projection TV. The TV Flickers up and down and screen is shifted to the right w/ red color dominating the screen. Under the assumption and the advise of a "Tech" was advised it was the IC's Digital chips. I replaced them by soldering the new ones to the board. It took about 4 total to do it. With much dismay the exact same screen appeared. Can anybody recommend some other solution?? Vertical scroll won't stop - is it the vertical oscillator circuit? How can I fix this problem?

I am having a sony vega tv of 2002 purchase. for last some days, after 10 to 15 min. of starting of tv, the flickering band starts on the screen. it distorts the picture also. and after sometime, everything becomes ok for some time & after that again intermittent flickering goes on.

Hi
The most likely problem is the auto focus module.
A costly repair.
If you are going to fix it ask for a rebuilt one.

The picture has a green tint to it.

If the green is all dominating then it is the red or yellow that is missing in the spectrum. The likely problem is that one of your color guns has burned out. good news is they can be replaced but you have to determine if you have three individual color guns, or one that projects all three colors. (don't skip the easy analysis first though) Check your cables to make sure they are not worn, cut, nicked and most certainly check to see that they are plugged all the way in. Try jiggling the red and yellow inputs while someone watches the screen to see if it flickers. If it does you could just need a new cable. Swapping it out with a known working cable also will work for testing.

Colour problem on rear projection tv

This might be something really simple... In a large number of DPTV310 chassis, of which this TV is, the yoke connections where put in place with black electrical tape just below the retaining rings. Job is to loosen the rings, remove the tape and push the yoke back in place and tighten down retainer.. Be careful not to throw off the tilt of the yoke. The adhesive on the tape, over time, gets hot so many time it becomes slippery and allows the yoke to fall away from it's position dulling the look of the image (or focal length) causing the problem you're describing here... It also throws off the convergence - so in attempting to converge it just looks worse. Good Luck Bill

51' projection tv(Hitachi 51G500A)

The Hitachi part number for the screen assembly for the 51G500a is KR02844. You can call a Hitachi parts distributor and see for yourself how much those things cost, but I warn you they are not cheap!

the last hitachi that had this problem i fixed it bad finding bad solder conenctions throughout the board that the convergance ic's are on, also i foind some on the two main board in my repair. hopefully resoldering the convergance foard will fix the jitter or jumping around problem. if the picture is too red you can also try turning down the screen control slightly. good luck
