Hello

Thank you for using FixYa for your problem

Always check the batteries first but if is it still giving the same fault, your camera is faulty.
It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Please rate our solutions and if you still have problems please call back for more ideas to help you

Camera was dropped and the View screen shows no image. There is an image that looks like shattered glass.

Can you still take pictures using the view finder? if yes! the rest of the camera is functional. The view screen can be replaced making the camera fully functional, but if the camera has other issues it needs to be assessed.

My d5000 fell on the floor and the filter glass of the lens broke. i tried taking pictures to see if it's still working but the view from the viewfinder is darker than usual and it would not take pics even...

The filter should have nothing to do with the images recorded on camera (I assume it's an UV- or skylight filter).

I'd say there's some more serious damage to your camera and you should take it to an authorized dealer repair shop.

Canon powershot A520 doesn't work in camera mode. I can look at and edit pictures in viewing mode, but switching to "camera" won't let me take pictures... in this mode it also lets me view pictures already...

Hi!
Do other buttons work? If so, the switch could be broken because it sounds it doesn't switch to the CAMERA mode, just stays at the VIEW mode.
If you're not experienced in repairs, you should give it to a local repair shop or Canon service center.

Sorry for the bad news. I repair these cameras very often.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX8 camera and the viewing screen is black

You have a button on your camera for the view finder on top of the camera so you can look through and take a picture : or you can see the picture your going to take on the screen.Push that button and it will change it back . I learned this the hard way . I also thought I broke my camera.

LCD not working

There's a good possibilty that your mode switch is broken. Same thing happened to my Z6. I was able to source replacement switches, and can replace them.
