Kenmore oven, mesh coil on oven door.

I would like to replace this in my oven, I don't know what it's called or if it's possible to replace it. My oven is only a year old but a casserole dish exploded in the oven and ripped this mesh thing to shreds. Now my oven is noisy when I turn it on to preheat. Can I replace this part and what is it called?

Thanks

Yes you can replace it. It is a gasket that seals the oven when it is being used. It is heat resistant and vital to the operation of the oven. It is like running and A/C with the windows open.

Why does my Kenmore oven 790.7343312 randomly turn off?

There are several reasons why your Kenmore oven model 790.7343312 may be randomly turning off. Here are some possible causes:
  1. Power supply issues: Check if the oven is properly plugged in and if there are any issues with the power outlet or circuit breaker. Loose connections or faulty wiring can also cause power supply issues.
  2. Temperature sensor problems: The temperature sensor is responsible for regulating the oven's temperature. If it's malfunctioning, it can cause the oven to turn off randomly. You can check the sensor with a multimeter or call a professional to diagnose and fix the problem.
  3. Faulty control board: The control board controls the oven's various functions, and a malfunctioning one can cause the oven to turn off unexpectedly. Again, you can use a multimeter to check the control board's voltage output or seek professional help.
  4. Overheating: Overheating can cause the oven to shut down as a safety measure. Check if the oven's ventilation system is functioning correctly, and remove any obstructions that may be blocking the airflow.
  5. Malfunctioning oven door switch: If the oven door switch is malfunctioning, it can cause the oven to shut down randomly. Check if the switch is working correctly, and replace it if necessary.

I don't know the model # but its a kenmore oven and my daughter left her finger on the stop button too long and so the oven door automatically locked us out. I can't find the book for it

According to the eHow website,
"press and hold the stop/clear button for 3 seconds to unlock the door."
(it's the same to lock the door in the first place.)

According to the Just Answer website, either press and hold the stop/clear button for 3 seconds or 5 seconds, (A beep will sound. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven door has completely unlocked and the lock icon light has cleared.) or you have to press the button 3 times quickly.

I have an older model double oven by Kenmore - probably 15-18 years old. I was baking bread in foil three days ago and the oven set on bake 325 degrees. (I had been cooking a roast in it for several hours...

Hi.

the oven may have locked in consequence of the self cleaning cycle.

After unplugging, allow the oven cooling down for few hours.

If the is still locked, then the high temperature generated in self cleaning cycle may have damaged temp probe, door latch, or electronic control.

Parts must be tested to discover the fault.

Call Kenmore at the number listed on the owners manual.

Regards.

Oven door will not unlock

Hello,, Some times this will happen after a self clean cycle if the timer did not finish the entire clean. Try to set the clock to start the self clean again then simply end the self clean. This should unlock the door. If the door remains locked. You may check the oven for an error code, or the door latch itself may need to be replaced. One other possible would be to turn off the power to the oven and try to let the oven control reset. leave the power off for about 15 minutes then turn the power back on. That will sometime work aswell. Good luck and feel free to call me if you need more help.

My self-cleaning oven door will not latch. Displays error code dr

HI, This code will appear when there are serious issue that concern the integrity of the door latch mechanism. The control is unable to carry out the lock command, due to this mechanism failing, in this case. This damaged door latch assembly should be replaced asap. Once placed, the unit will preform correctly.

NOTE_ There is a possibility, that the door latch wires are loose. I would gain access to the door latch assembly, if possible, to inspect the wring that is linking the control to the actual door latch. Make sure the wiring harness is connected properly, and that the contacts are not damaged. If all is well, replace the door latch assembly
