I cannot unlock the controls on the panel - i just bought a house that has the whirlpool gold quiet partner dishwasher and when i press any button nothing happens but says controls locked - i unlock the controls and try to turn on the dishwasher and still happens and says controls locked again. can you help?

Also, motors buzz when the start/run capacitor fails. See if you can located where the buzzing is coming from.

the air dry button would be the button you need to hold for 10 seconds until the light goes out.

Wait 10 seconds before pressing the "Cancel" button to reset the dishwasher.

If an error light is blinking on your dishwasher's control panel, the panel must be reset before you can gain access. Blinking lights on your dishwasher control panel may signal a mechanical problem that needs to be repaired. If the lights continue to blink after you've reset the control panel, contact Sears to service your Kenmore dishwasher or consider troubleshooting the appliance yourself.
1Press and hold the "Heated Dry" button on your Kenmore dishwasher for four seconds to unlock the dishwasher control panel.
2 Press the "Heated Dry," "Normal Wash," "Heated Dry" and "Normal Wash" buttons one after the other, in fairly quick succession.
3 Wait for the dishwasher to run a short diagnostic test.
4 Press the "Cancel/Drain" button at the end of the diagnostic test cycle. This should reset the control panel on your Kenmore dishwasher.

Try to reset the dishwasher by using this sequence of keys within 6-8 secs.

HiTemp/ heat Dry/ Hi Temp/ heat Dry/ Hi Temp / Heat dry.

If it works all lights should turn on. Press Cancel to exit.

I am assuming you have already tried to turn the mains power off and back on.

If still no difference, then the controller or the panel has packed up.

Press and hold the AIR DRY/RINSE ONLY button to reset the control, if you have already tried this and it is possible that the door was opened while in cycle then the first thing that should be checked is the door switch/lock assembly. You can take a hair dryer and try to blow air on that, if the problem returns then replacing the door switch/lock assembly is recommended repair. You can purchase door panels to replace the existing one to match your other appliances. The part number for a BLACK panel is W10073200. The cheapest I found the panel listed was appliancepartspros.com for about $96. Only you can decide whether or not the cost is too much. I hope this helps you.
