Tv was given to me original problem would not power up. after moving to my house 5mi. away, found bad fuse set comes on now but has red blue and green shadowes around people or objects. also picture has a bow at top and bottom of screen, going towards center of screen. person who gave it to me says picture was good before tv stopped working. not looking to put to much money in to repairing but would repair if reasonable.
i have similar prob but no fuse blew, just convergence issues and i do have the adjustments still in the setup menu, when i select them it fixes prob for anywhere from 2 sec to 5 min. then goes back to way it was.

The fuse fails when the convergence power supply fails,putting a new fuse in the set will let the unit come back on but convergence is not working,check in screens in the menu to see if you have adj. projection t.v.,if the is not in the menu,replace reg ic part number 215530 on the convergence power supply,this board is above the right module mounted on the black plastic.,hope this helps

My RCA 52 rear projection TV has the letters getting blurry on top and bottom, Picture is OK but visually losing my eyesight staring at blurry numbers and letters.
MOST LIKELY, THE PROBLEM IS THE BULB USED IN THE SET? BY THAT I MEAN THE HIGH INTENSITY REAR PROJECTOR BULB? DO A SEARCH ONLINE AND THERE ARE COMPANIES SELLING THE BULBS AT A PREMIUM. YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER DUMPING IT.........
i'd like to help.that model# looks familiar.but that chassis num you gave looks more like a serial num all my rca prints go buy chassis #

A 10 year old RCa most likly has a bad Horizontal output transistor as well as the main High Voltage transformer and The transformer is no lonmger available from RCA. The replacement wont last longer then a year if your lucky. My advice on a set this old ?? Buy a newer one!!
You have bad convergence IC's.. If your not experienced in troubleshooting electronics or soldering, you should have a trained tech take a gander at the set. Its not worth risking life and limb to save a few bucks, Good Luck
