Need to locate the jumpers on the motherboard of dell latitude d420 notebook to reset os password

I'm not sure the d420 has a jumper for BIOS reset on the motherboard. I think you will need to remove the small CMOS battery under the keyboard (for around 15 minutes) to reset the BIOS password and settings.

Acer netbook restor to factory settings

Normally for acer machine if you need to do factory restore.. You need to call acer were they will provide a restore disc with all the features that came along with the computer..They might charge you about $15.... So call acer etch support.. They are the best to help you on this

Reset bios

You need to open your notebook remove first the battery and all screw at the back of your notebook. You can see there a CMOS battery together with the CMOS jamper. Just read it you can read CLRSCR which means clear cmos, just pull it with in 10 seconds and insert it back. Now you are done to reset bios.

hello there is no reset button just the power button which if needed you can hold it down for about 8 to 10 sec to make your system power down you can reset by going to reset on the windows menu

Reset Bios Password for Acer Aspire 7720Z Notebook - Ron M.

Here is the link to your service manual, when you click on it and bring it up...it is a pdf file so you'll need adobe or another pdf reader, go to page 40, that is the directions for resetting and removing the BIOS/hard drive password. Good luck

Acer 5515 factory reset

system reboot, or download ccleaner the free version and download registry cleaner, wipe your comp, and then see if it works then, also chek for updates wich ate not installed on your notbook.

Like in Desktops, there wont be Reset Buttons available for Notebooks.

If you want to reset the Notebook, all you need to do is to press hold the Power button for 6 to 10 seconds so that the Notebook will be turned off.

The same applies for desktops which donot have Reset button or if the reset button is not working.

If you are using the default Xandros setup, you can restore vie pressing F9 during the POST screen, if not, boot from the ASUS System DVD and follow the instructions.

EVERYTHING on the SSD will be eraser/overwritten and your eee PC will be restored to factory default, meaning it will be like it was the day you unboxed it and turned it on for the very first time.
