Forgot lock screen pattern takes me to username for g mail and dont know it any suggestions?

IDK about a simple legitimate fix for this. I was just messin around with the pattern, hit "forgot pattern" to see what it does. It asks me for the Google username and password, but has no way for me to go back! I know the pattern! The Motorola Droid is free from this problem, when on the forgot password screen, it still allows me to go back to the pattern screen. Very disappointing HTC...

On the other hand, there is a bit of a "hack" that can be used to solve this. Create a new Google account. Then call the locked phone from another phone. While in the call, you have full access to the phone. Press home, go into your settings, and add your new Gmail account into the phone. End the call, go back, and enter your new Gmail info. You may also need to enable Wifi while the call is still connected, I'm not sure if 3G will work for the sync while the phone is "locked".

Sorry very much but can you please help me I really need my HTC legen I still remember my pattern but accidentally I pressed forgot pattern then it told me to enter my google account I still remember my gmail but I forgot my password and another problem is that I don't have Internet in my phone to sign in to gmail.

Do you want to get all your contacts back?
If not then just flash stock rom into your device using ODIN. You will get your phone into working condition but will loose your contacts and messages if they are in the phone memory.

if you forgot your pattern lock, just give few more tries to continue wrong efforts. at an instant, the OS will report 'attempts exceeded, enter with your gmail'. at this point just enter your email address and in the textbox for password just give value as 'NULL'. this will instantly ask for new pattern lock and you are done!

I forgot my pattern password now i have to sign in using my username(email) both of which i don't have how do i get back into my phone?

If you forgot you screen unlock pattern then you need to reset it. The simple procedure is mentioned below -

Continue to enter the unlock pattern five times until you are prompted with forgot password (forgot pattern in some handsets) at the bottom right side of the screen.
Tap on the Forgot Password option and you would be prompted to sign in with the existing Google or Gmail account information. You need to provide the ID when you first register or activated your phone. If you have that, it would be easy to get in for you and then change the unlock pattern (atleast by now you would be remembering your unlock pattern).
If you don't know the Gmail ID or the password is wrong then there is only one solution to hard reset your handset. The data present on the added SD card will not be wiped out but you would lose your personal data or information or contacts stored on your phone memory.
The procedure for hard reset is mentioned clearly at reset the mobile.

Unlock with google email

To unlock the pattern screen lock, sign in with your Google account.
1. After 30 seconds, tap Forgot pattern?
2. The user need to log in with the primary gmail.com e-mail address and not the alternative email address connected to the Google account.
3. Tap the username field and enter the primary Google account user name.
4. Tap the password field and enter the primary Google account password.
5. Draw a new unlock pattern and tap Continue .
6. Draw the new unlock pattern again and tap Continue .

1. On the computer: Start PC Companion™.
2. On thecomputer: In the Support Zone™ descriptor, in the Software Updatesection click Start > (Repair) and follow the instructions on the PCmonitor screen.
3. Turn off the phone.
4. Connect the USB cable to your computer.
5. On the phone: Press and hold down Back key and connect the USB cable to the phone.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Note : The software in your phone will be replaced. All personal data stored in your phone will be lost.

There is also a way to unlock the pattern screen lock by signing in with your Google account.

1. After 30 seconds, tap Forgot pattern?
