Door wont open

sounds like the locker servo is having an issue there and may need replacement contact Maytag for a replacement part

Some of these machines have a door lock that dose not unlock for a min. or two after wash is done. If so try the door now & it should open.

3. Wait for the door lock light to go out (Immediately).
4. Add the item, close the door, and press the Start/Pause

GETTING STARTED
1. Load your washer.
2. Close the door.

Push the laundry into the drum completely to prevent the laundry from being caught in the door or
....... from falling out of the drum.
3. Press the Power button.
4. Add detergent and additives to the dispenser (page 20-21).
5. Select the appropriate cycle and options for the load (page 14-16).
6. Press the Start/Pause
7. The Wash Indicator light will illuminate.
8. The estimated cycle time will appear in the display.
The time may fluctuate to better indicate the time remaining in the cycle.
The actual time required for a cycle may differ from the estimated time in the display depending on the
water pressure, water temperature, detergent, and laundry.
9. Before your washer starts to fill, it will make a series of clicking noises to check the door lock and do a
quick drain.

When the cycle is complete, the door lock light will go out and "End" will appear in the display.

DO NOT attempt to open the door until the door lock light is off. To add a forgotten item, see

When your washer is restarted after a pause, expect a delay of up to 15 seconds before the cycle
continues.

Pressing Power button cancels the cycle and stops your washer.

If this is a front load washer, yes it's normal.
You wouldn't want your laundry and all the water falling out on the floor because the door didn't lock, would you ?

Once you close your Maytag Neptune's door, the machine locks the door, goes through the selected wash cycles and unlocks the door when the laundry is finished. Error codes appear when there are problems with the door, the inflow and drainage of water and the motor.

2. Your Maytag Neptune washer displays the "do" help code when the washing machine is trying to start a cycle, but the door is open or not locked properly. If this message is displayed, close the door securely and restart the washing cycle.
FL
3. The "FL" code indicates that the washing machine was unable to lock the door after you closed it. Open and close the door tightly, then restart the washing cycle.
Sd
4. The "Sd" code indicates that you have added too much detergent to the washing machine and your laundry has too many suds. The machine will stop displaying this code if it has successfully run the suds recovery cycle, which removes the excess suds from the wash load. If the code remains, reduce the amount of detergent in the load. Use less detergent for similar loads of laundry in the future.
PF
5. The "PF" code indicates that a power failure has occurred. Restart the wash cycle. If the code still appears, check that the washing machine is still plugged in to the electrical outlet.
Nd
6. The "nd" code indicates that your Maytag Neptune is not draining as it should. Check that the drain hose isn't kinked and that the stand pipe isn't clogged. If you find either of these problems, fix them before restarting the washing cycle.
LO
7. The "LO" code appears when the washing machine has finished the selected wash cycle, but cannot unlock the door. Verify that the door is closed properly, push the "Off" button, and wait two minutes. The door should unlock and the error code will disappear. If the error code remains, unplug the washing machine, wait two minutes and plug it back into the electrical outlet.

8. The "Lr" code indicates that the washing machine's motor is not running as it should. Have your Maytag Neptune washing machine serviced by a certified Maytag repair professional.
   

My GE Energy Star Front Load Washer is reading 5.9 instead of 59 minutes and not washing clothes. We cleaned the filter and still no luck. Please help.

did that work?? you may have a bad or stuck door lock

If the water has not completely emptied, this wont allow the door to open. Check by lowering the outlet hose into a bowl. If a fair amount of water comes the problem is likely to be a pump blockage
