You really might want to try creating the connections again on your PS3 system on the same modem/router you are using.

Your PS3 is not downloading updates because you need to deactivate the "Media Server Connection" under Network setting.

we have a playstation 3 and we cannot figurew out to get on the internet.....what is a port number and what is a ip address?

is the connection the problem. the connection could easily cause errors while downloading
or the ps3 is incompatable with the updates. this unkonwn why but it does happen every now and then.

if u have a router in use with ps3,plug ethernet into modem,power cycle and try download.needs a direct IP connection for some stuff, C.O.D.4 was my 1st game, had same prob.
