After I shave , it doesn't feel as if I shaved and doesn't feel as if I shaved. It is the worst shave I've had in 40 years.
If you are not happy with your shaving machine than I will recommend you to use Bald Eagle Smart Shaver LCD that gives a clean and smooth shave. The best quality of this shaver is that it does not cause skin irritation after shaving and also does not get cut while shaving.
This problem is usually cause by a worn out shaving head (foil and cutters). Braun suggests that you change these every 12-18 months for best performance. You will find replacements at shaveroutlet.com for your model 4501 Braun shaver. See link below.

It is also possible that your shaver is running too slowly due to an old battery if you've never replaced it. If you require a new battery, it can also be ordered from shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

To change the battery you will need to be able to do a little soldering. Open the shaver by removing the two round screw covers on the bottom of the shaver and then the screws underneath. You will also need to remove the foil and cutters and then the swivel frame which is attached by two tiny screws. Once removed, you will be able to open the shaver from the bottom and seperate the front and back. Remove the circuit board to easily get to the battery.
Note: The tabs on this type battery will work for most applications however they may be slightly different than some original equipment. For these instances, it is sometimes suggested that you use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries rather that removing them from the circuit board. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves the tabs attached to the circuit board. You can them solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs
The best way to shave your beard is close, but not too close. Excessive pulling and stretching of the skin causes the hair to protrude a bit farther out than normal. Shaving over stretched skin may cut the hairs below the surface of resting skin, thus increasing the risk of ingrown hairs.
First you need to clean the remaining shaving cream on your
face and then you should use after-shave toners which will help remove any
residue left over from shaving, close the pores, and refresh the skin.
You might have some particularly stubborn areas that need to be shaved against the growth of your hair or sideways in order to attain a close shave. You should shave as much as you can with the grain, then re-lather and shave those troubled areas across or against the grain.
Regular cleaning is important to maintain an optimal shaving result.
1. Turn the shaver on.
2. Rinse the shaving unit under a hot tap.
3. Pull the top part of the shaving unit from the bottom part.
4. Rinse the bottom and top part under a hot tap for 30 seconds.
5. Reassemble the shaving unit and carefully shake off excess water. Let the shaving unit dry completely.
