Samsung mobile (F480) can detect network but unable to call outside. It immediates displays "Emergency calls only".

There are two possibilities your phone shown emergency call only 1.You mobile phone receives weak signal from near tower so try to Swich off your mobile,wait few seconds and switch on.

Method 1:

Try to call your service provider to check the network configuration of your phone to refresh your account..

it is the normal phenominene of samsung mobile to leave signels so on that time u need to restart your mobile or search it mannualy and select the network. this is the only solution of this no other service center can repair it so this is only one way to solve your problem.

Sounds like you have no signal for the network your on.
Even though the phone shows signal bars, this is for a reception it has found for other networks around you. Networks allow emergency calls to be made by all mobiles regardless of network.

Has it ever worked with your sim? Does it work in other areas you travel? Does it work with another networks sim?

Another possibilty is if you have only just got the phone was it from new? If you have purchased it second hand there is a possibility that the mobiles imei is on a barring list for being reported lost or stolen? If you call your network they have a data base they can check for you. If it is listed as barred there is nothing you can do apart from take it back to where you got it from?
