Hi, I just bought that camera and took a few pictures, but although the date and time are set up. the date doesn't imprint on the picturea. any help please, as I would like to have pictures that tell me when there were actualy taken. Thank you
This camera doesn't give you the option to have the dates on the pictures. The manual says there is a Picture Motion Browser software that comes with the camera that could do it.
Hope that helps.

Wow my apologies. I went to Sony live chat and asked how to put the date on pictures that I was saving to MY COMPUTER and was told I would have to use something like MS Paint and put it on each picture manually. But then I went to Picture Motion Browser and you can edit and insert date. Yes it is tedious but there is an advantage to it. You have a choice of 4 colors and 4 positions to put the date. On my DSC-W5 the date is always in the bottom right corner and always in yellow and if that corner happens to be yellow, you can't see it. Also pulled up some pictures other people had sent me and used insert date and it put the date on those too....it appears to be the date the picture was actually taken and not the date that I saved it to my computer but it knew where to sort each picture in my MyPictures folder. PS on the above, I tried select all but could not put the date on all at one time, plus you have to click on save after every date insertion....
Also face same problem with dsc-w90. I've tried Picture Motion Browser and it works. But problem is it has to be made for each image/picture and this is very troublesome. Is there a way to do it in batch or in group?

thank you very much
i need the Picture Motion Browser Program for my Sony DSC-W55.
how do you get the date in the photo itself
yeah this sucks I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W5 and it prints the date...what good is it to not be able to print the date on your pictures...unbelievable!
I CAN NOT MAKE DATE AND TIME TO SHOW IN MY PICTURES.
So what is the point of setting a time and date if you can't get it to print on the pictures??
Wish I'd read these before I purchased the Cyber-shot DSC-W150 which has the same problem. I did work out how to insert the date, but contacted Sony to see if there was a way to do it for a batch of photos and not just individually. They replied, to paraphrase, that it is a good idea not to have the date inserted automatically! Is anyone out there from Sony taking any notice of forums where there are so many people complaining about the tedious process of printing the date on their photos - have they tried to do it on 200, 100 or even 50 photos? Obviously not. How about updating the Picture Motion Browser with two options - automatically insert the date on all photos, or don't insert the date. Surely that wouldn't be too hard!
