Just purchased an Sharp Aquos LCD tv and it won't recognize the signal from the cable box or something - new tv and I can't even use it. Plugged in, cable cord is connected to the cable box then the TV. Nothing happens. I have a blank screen on the TV
On your TV remote, press "INPUT".It is hard to find, but it should be there.Select"TV" and press"ENTER" button.I believe it is on the top of the list.On some cable boxes you have to select channel 3 and use the cable box remote to change channels. Also, make sure your TV antenna setting is set to "Cable" from the "Air/Cable"(Antenna setting). You will have to read your manual to find out how to get to this menu. After that do a "Ch Search"[Channel search].This automatically searches for all available channels and stores them. It will take some time. You will see the channel numbers as it does it's search. This is done so when you press channel up and down keys it will only go to next channel available and not to one with no signal.Hope this is of some help.

Well I tried a cable amplifier & that solved my problem. I now get all HD channels without an HD cable box.
