Creative Central not running

The following is a problem someone else has report and I'm having the exact same problem. I love my Zen...is there any help?

Creative Central will no longer load & come up on my Computer. Using Windows XP; it's always been slow to load, but usually works. I decided to just try and reinstall & now the software will not even download, nor does the download from the website work. On the Wizard set up it appears it's going to work -- on the 1st screen you choose the language & hit the gree continue icon; but on the 2nd screen it just shows an "X" mark for closing out; there's no green icon option for continuing with the set up. (I deleted & removed all CC sofware before I tried to reinstall.) I love using Creative Centrale, that's why I chose the Zen Mozaic. It just stopped working out of the blue, no changes to my computer. And now that I can't even reinstall it, is really strange. I certainly hope Creative is working on this, or they will loose much business. I love their products, other than these little bugs with Creative Centrale. (BTW, I tried to save from Media Player, and my computer no longer gives me the option of saving to my Zen as it did b4--so that options out.)

I don't know what model of Zen either of you have - there are tons of them - so I will have to refer you to Creative's website - click on your exact product, and then click on Ho-To Demo, and click on Video - it will show you exactly what to do - also, check your product specs and make sure it can handle m4V format - not all models of Zen can handle them:

Zen is not connected

I found a solution at a Creative dealer site in the UK....it worked for me when nothing else did.

This unit comes with a "hidden" recovery accessory...be careful in this area if you do not know what you are doing.

Hold the power switch to the left and at the same time use a paperclip to push the Rest button on the bottom of the unit....remove the paperclip and as soon as the Creative logo appears on the screen, release the power switch. A recovery menu will appear. I selected "Clean" from the screen and waited about 5 minutes for process to complete. When that was finished I selected "Reboot"....after it rebooted, my computer recognized the unit. I was afraid that my files (music, pics etc) would be lost, but it was all there in perfect condition.

Hope it helps

My creative zen vision m screen

I don't think people on here are allowed to advertise directly for their services. There are several websites on Google if you search under "zen repair." Also if you scroll down a bit you will see a little box on this page that says "Repair Service." Just put in your zip code to search for repair services near you.
