I too have problems printing anything in color. The black seems ok, but as soon as there are any pictures or color, it looks as though it were an inkjet that got wet!

Please someone that doesnt speak indian, help!  Dell is useless in helping with this problem.

Same problem, it's post toner transfer, prior to the fuser, looks like some pickup fingers dragging the toner after transfer, just don't know how to get to them clean.

I'm using HP Photo paper and this is happening to me too. Thought it was just the paper. Someone else mentioned the fuser. Is this something I can fix or is it a Dell issue?

When you say the colors are running, do you mean that they are smearing, or not adherring to the page? If this is the case, I would say that there is an issue with the fuser, not "melting" the toner to the page. There is one thing also, it is not recommended to plug any laser printer into a UPS or power strip as this can cause all kinds of wierd print problems.

I have a dell p513w printer, and recently it stop printing color copies. I have replaced black and color ink, cleaned and deep cleaned pinhead.

You said the device will not "print" color copies. Have you tried to make a copy of something in color?
Recommend printing out a demo page that should show all colors listed, also do a print head alignment that would show the colors too.

Magenta toner spots pages

Step 1:

Print out about 10 blank (all white) sheets and see if the spots clean off.

Step 2:

Check to see if the toner is Dell type brand, if not try installing Dell brand and run 10 blank copies then run color test print using menu key.
Press menu, press arrow down key till 'print reports' is displayed, Press 'check key' then press down key till 'color test print' Press check key to print color copy.

My Canon MP830 prints only colors, not blacks?

have you checked the ink levels? sometimes the black runs out before other colors because it is used more commonly.
it could be that the device is unable to detect that it has no black ink and therefore will not notify you that it has run out.
i suggest trying a replacement ink and seeing if that solves the problem, if not, then there is a problem with the hardware of the printer.

Printer has ink but wont print in color test page wont print in color, also aligned printer and it worked in color. cleaned printer head as well which printed all the colors. what else can i do? It seems...

Take color copy, test all colors are OK..Go to printer properties, printing preferences, finishing check is there any check mark on print in black cartridge only? mark on print color..apply..OK.. give print command..
Go to paint draw a color drawing, print it.> check colors if its not printing in color it might be drivers issue.. un install the drivers re install once again check..> if printed in color check the file which you are printed..take another file.. then test..

How does one 'colour test' please.

Clean the Printhead & Print a test page by doing the ff:

1. Press the Ink button press the Up or down arrow key to select Test Print, then select Print Quality press OK and press Black or Color START. Check all the colors including the black & check if there are any missing dots and if there are any colors not printing correctly.

2. Press the Ink button on the control panel and select CLEANING press OK.

3. Press the up or down arrow key to select Color press ok and press Black Start.

*After the cleaning process the printer will ask you if the quality is OK, press up or down to select yes or no, and it will ask you whether black or color is ok, once you have selected you're answer press Black or Color START to print another test page. Compare the 1st and 2nd test page if it's improving, you may need to do this 3-5 times or until you get a better quality

Hope this helps Please rate if it worked Thanks!

Light or Faded Areas in Solid Color Prints

If the issue is occuring in the same place on all prints, try the imaging drum (can't remember if this printer even uses one) or the transfer belt/roller (not sure which it uses). If you phone Dell support, they should run you through troubleshooting and send you either of those parts free of charge if you are under warranty. If not, buy them anyways; they don't degrade over time (if kept in the dark) and can be saved for when the currently installed one runs out if you don't need it to fix this issue.
