How to change ink in the lexmark x4270 printers

In some cases, the ink cartridge carrier won't position itself in the middle even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the white tape in the middle inside the printer. The other end of it is connected to the carrier. Gently slide the carrier to the center. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to power source. Thanks.

Error 1203 occurs due to smearing of ink on the carriage bottom where the cartridge head touches the carriage bottom. Please turn off your printer and unplug it.
Clean the bottom of carriage with a damp cloth and clean any dried ink. Make sure that you use the printer after 5-10 mins or until the carriage area dries up completely.

If the 1203 message is still present on the operator panel, you need to insert one cartridge at a time to determine which cartridge is producing the failure.

Now try and check whether you are still getting an error. I hope that you are using orignal Lexmark ink. If not then please use genuine inks only.

Full details are in the User Manual that came with the printer as are install instructions. I hate **** who are so disrespectful that they post in capitals- it's akin to shouting. If you have problems reading the User Manual then I suggest you put the printer back in the box and send it back (you may wish to do the same with your PC!)

If you brought new Lexmark cartridges please change it as it comes with one year warranty but before try to perform a self test, (i.e make a copy) if it works then try printing , if get the error then change the cart.........................

I have a lexmark X4270, I'm having a problem with the fax machine, the display keeps displaying "clear paper Jam", however there is no paper jam. I'm also not being able to recieve or send any faxes. I'm low on ink, would this prevent sending faxes? Any suggestions?
