Kenmore elite front loader washer:door locked after repair

Kenmore elite front loader washer wasn't draining (f2 and SUD codes). I removed front panel and drained water through drain pump reservoir. Nothing was in the filter/pump clogging it. Now, the door is locked and I can't unlock it.

If you have cleaned the drain pump and checked ALL the drain lines (this includes the drain line that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the drain pump), then you may have to replace the pump.

Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and cannot pump at the correct volume to complete the drain cycle, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced.

The following link explains how to replace the drain pump (if required):

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574350-replacing_the_drain_pump_in_a_front_load

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
appliancepartspros.com
pcappliancerepair.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare. The first three sites I hjave listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need.

If you are having problems with unlocking the washer, there is a manual release you can use to get the door open: http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576511-door_jam_on_kenmore_elite_and_whirlpool_ The problem may just be a momentary glitch in programming related to the "F02" error code you are receiving. If there are any error codes present, the washer will not complete a cycle and will shut down. I would recommend double checking the drainage system one more time to ensure there's nothing caught in the pump impeller or any of the drain lines (you may have overlooked something), followed by replacement of the pump if the problem continues. This will hopefully cure any others issues you may be experiencing with the washer. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

How do you get to the drain filter on a kenmore elite he3 washer to clean it?

The following link explains how to access the drain pump on a Kenmore Elite HE3 front loader to clean the drain pump:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385844-checking_drain_pump_kenmore_elite_front

If you are experiencing drainage issues and cleaning the pump does not work, you may have to replace the drain pump. You will usually experience an "F2", "SUD" or "F21" error code (depending on model number) for a drain blockage problem. Since this error code occurs when the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump motor or impeller becomes damaged, the pump will not pump at the required volume and the error code will continue to occur. Replacement pumps can be purchased on line at:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between these sites, so shop all of them for the best deal.

NOTE: Make sure you also check the drain hose and the inlet hose that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the drain pump. Small articles of clothing can commonly get lodged in this area.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

I have a washer stopping at the rinse and spin cycle and shows F2 on the display led

If your washer is a Kenmore Elite front loader,as the one you have this question listed under, "F02" is a Long Drain error code. This is an indication that you have an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system. In most cases this means there is a clog in the drain pump. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r615268-f02_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

Included is a follow-on link that explains how to check the drain pump to clean. You may also have to remove the inlet hose that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the drain pump. Debris and small articles of clothing can commonly clog in this area as well causing the drain cycle to fail.

NOTE: The "SUD" error code can often occur in conjunction with the "F02" error code. This is due to air being detected in the drainage system, which can occur if the pump is not running, or if you have an obstruction BEFORE the pump. You need to remove the inlet hose from the pump to ensure it is also not blocked. Correct your drainage system fault, and the SUD error should go away.

If you have any questions about this repair, or need additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: If these preliminary measures do not correct your problem, you may have to replace the drain pump. It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced.

Kenmore Elite Washer

Try this first.

Washer won't drain or spin
Is the drain hose clogged, or the end of the drain hose
more than 96" (2.4
m) above the floor?
Is your voltage low?
Check electrical source or call electrician. Do not use an
extension cord.
Is the "SUD" routine active?
Cycle will complete once extra suds are removed.
Is the load balanced?
A single or bulky item may cause imbalance. Add more items
or redistribute the load.

Spinning and draining does not work, F error or sometimes Sud

Sud means you using to much soap and the f code means soap is locking the drain pump up and wont allow unit to drain and spin.

HELP!!

We've had this problem for about a yr when i finally firgured out how to correct it.
the problem is that the circuit board is attached to the washer, when it starts to shake it causes the connections to loosen and theats the fault code you get.
How I fixed this was to suspend the circuit from a bungie strap this will allow the washer to shake all it wants and the circuit board is stable, connections stay tight andwasher works fine, after 6 months not one error code at all

Washer flashing F then went to SUD

Drop the drain hose so that it is lower than the drain and let all the water run out of the machine. Open the door and remove all washing. Let machine go through rinse cycle with some milk mixed in with the water, (pour the milk into the soap container, about one cup) and make sure there are no soap suds left in the machine. Check that you are using washing powder which is recommended for front loaders.
