If your HP LaserJet 1200 printer is experiencing intermittent printing issues, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Check for paper jams: Even if you don't see any visible paper jams, it's worth opening up the printer and checking for any small bits of paper or debris that might be causing a partial blockage. Use a flashlight to examine the paper path thoroughly.
2. Clean the paper path: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate in the paper path, leading to printing problems. You can use compressed air or a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the rollers and other accessible parts of the paper path.
3. Verify printer drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers specifically for the HP LaserJet 1200 printer model.
4. Reset the printer: Perform a power cycle by turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, and waiting for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on again. This process can help clear any temporary glitches or errors.
5. Adjust printer settings: Check the print settings on your computer and ensure they are appropriate for the print job. Make sure you have selected the correct paper size, paper type, and print quality settings.
6. Update printer firmware: Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Updating the firmware can address known issues and improve the printer's performance.
7. Check for hardware issues: If the problem persists, there might be a hardware issue with the printer. Consider contacting HP support or a printer technician to diagnose and repair the printer.
Remember to consult the printer's user manual for specific instructions on maintenance and troubleshooting.
Check the drum on the toner cartridge.DO NOT EXPOSE IT TO THE DIRECT SUN LIGHT. Check for some oily spots on the drum.I f there it is clean them with a soft cloth. After this put a cartridge in the printer and make 2-3 test pages. If the problem still exist maybe you should try to disassemble the cartridge and clean the blade of the developer roller and drum cleaning blade. DO NOT TOUCH WITH OILY OR WET HANDS. Here is instructions for disassemble and for refilling the cartridge step by step http://www.uninetimaging.com/downloads/technical/hp/english/HP_P_2035_2055_Reman_eng.pdf
Open the printer and take out the cartridge, then you see paper pick-up roller itisrubber. The roller is dirt and have to be cleaned with cloth and water or alcohol.
two reason in paperjam 1200 series printer
one some senser not working so remove back sight cover and clean dust help with air blower.
and paper pick roller is not working
first you remove paper pick roller
and change direction of paper pick roller
means change direction means just opposite site use.
i think solve your problem.
noise is caused by the toner cartridge and paper is not going trough because there is a plastic milar clse to the feed roller that is bent, find it and push it towards the inside of printer (is a black or dark brown plastic mylar)
Probably the laser-mirror motor. It will screech until the load gives a error and the printer shows error/ is dead. However, the motor can be lubed. Remove sides, remove screws found, remove top cover. Remove and open the black box containing laser. Remove motor board and lube the motor, dont get the mirror dirty. Asseble. Total time 15min...
Ensure that you are putting the paper in the right position.
there has not been problem of pick of roller from that model.
Ensure that paper are well inserted into the printer.
You can clean the pickup roller. worn out roller might be responsible.
If you cant get paper out from inside after removing cartridge then there is No easy fix, and the roller at rear is called a fuser, these parts dont come out easy, machine will need all covers removed, plugs disconnected and brackets removed, gears pulled off and fuser removed, maybe replaced if there is a reason why it wrapped around roller
Looking for an answer to the above problem with a hp LaserJet 1200 printer
