Question about Toshiba TP50G90 50" Rear Projection Television

TV wont turn on

Hi,
Our Toshiba was working fine and now it wont turn on and the red power lite keeps flashing. I have unplugged it several time, and it will work for very short time and then it will quit again. Red power light continues to flash. Help!

Hiya only1gal! The issue you're experiencing could be caused by either the convergence ic's or the power supply. Either part will cost about $400 to repair. Sorry for the bad news, and good luck!

Toshiba 52wm48p projection TV keeps restarting.

Hi,It sounds like an issue with the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast.When you put a new lamp in it takes more voltage than the old lamp ,so the ballast when it starts to go weak it wont be able to power it.The cost for the ballast is less than the cost of the lamp and it could be done by yourself,you can find instructions on youtube.Have a bless one!

Tv will not turn on

I have the same problem power lite (red) flashes TV doesn't come on. Eager to hear a solution. I suspect a reset button will revive it.

Hi, your power board is in a weak state. this is being caused by major component failuer. replacing the power board will fix this issue.

This unit shouldb e flashing a repeated count on the standby light. That count will indicate the circuit in which a problem was detected causig the shutdown. Please post that count and we should be able to provide details on the repair.

Pull the three connectors to the yokes on the convergence board. If the set powers up, it's a good chance the STK392-110's need to be replaced. I fixed one today, and it has been running for 6 hours now.

TV is not powering up and red light keeps flashing

I had the same red blinking led problem on my Toshiba Theaterview tv. I resolved by:
- Unplugging the tv.
- Press several times (3 or 4 times) the tv Power button.
- Plug the tv back in and press the Power button once to turn the tv on....tv worked!!!

I've had the problem before and tried unplugging the tv for a couple of days and that had also worked, but I this recent solution seems to be faster.
