Have a toshiba satellite a305-s6853 and it wont power up is thier an internal fuse

Remove your battery plug in your a/c power - you should get a power led light on your unit - if not power led try your power pack on someone elses toshiba or try there power pack on yours - if a good power pack starts your unit then refitted the battery whilst its running and left it charge - that means you have a dead power supply - if it doesn't respond with and alternative power pack your d/c input cct has failed. new m/board.

Power up problem

it has nothing to do with the ram, it is the issue of the adapter or battery for toshiba laptop, if the output volatge form the adapter is not steady, the light will get yellow and blink, try it on another toshiba laptop. if it is normal, u should test the toshiba laptop battery by the multimeter, connect the electroprobes wiht the anode and cathode, if the pointer does not fixed in a short time ,the battery is the issue. change it for a new one.

Toshiba E740 Power Problem

Hi, I noticed that the firmware that you have is not the latest, the last provided was 1.0623.049 which was released a few years ago. I would install this, in addition to the other patches from the Toshiba web site. Hopefully this will overwrite any software quirks for you. regards, Keith

The PDA turn off and it will turn back on immediately later ......

I get much the same, but it comes and goes. For a week or two it will behave itself, then goes pop for a month or three! Do you find if you have external power (cradle or USB) that it will switch off? I also find that if I switch it off from battery power, it will switch itself back on, but then the power switch is ineffective for 6 or 7 seconds. Then you can switch it off, only to repeat the whole excercise again (and again, and again, and again...)

The Toshiba Pocket PC e740 is shipped with an Enabled security feature, which switches off the batteries. In order to be able to turn on the unit, the Battery Switch must be in a battery "Supply" position. Please check if the Battery Switch is in a Stop position or Supply position. The Battery Switch can be found on the lower right edge of the unit, next to the "Cradle Connection Port". Please see the below diagram The Battery Switch supplies or stops power to the Pocket PC. When using the Pocket PC for the first time, slide this switch to the left with the stylus pen. If you have further questions, please refer to the Instruction Manual page 2-4 (21 of 182).
