If the stereo does not power up at all:
Make sure the stereo is getting the 12VDC. Check if there is a fuse on the back of the stereo.
It may be also a fuse inside the stereo, it could be a short circuit due to a bad audio output ICs or bad control circuit.
If the stereo powers up but no sound: See if you can reset the stereo by disabling the power that is going to the stereo, perhaps by removing the radio Main fuse for a couple of minutes (this may clear all memory including stations and clock)
It may also be a bad audio circuit, Speaker wires or connectors.

Good luck

CD player not working

Well, if you push the cd button and no cd player is installed, then you can try a salvage yard to find one and have an auto electric shop install it for you.

Otherwise, you can go to a place like Best Buy, and have them install a cd changer, like a Sony, for instance, that plays through a certain FM stereo frequency on your radio and they might be able to make it so that it powers up when you hit the cd button, although

many times they'll just have it power up on your ignition key being on, and you have to remember what frequency or preset on your radio to have to hear the cd-player play.

That's tech for you.

My clarion CD player in my Nissan Primera P12 2004 will not eject the discs can this be rectified and would it be expensive.

Hi.

Check first that it is not a single disk stuck inside.

Try pressing repeatedly the eject button on the on dash player while at the same time you start the stereo.

If that does not work you can try disconnecting the car battery to reset the unit, and then attempt again the procedure above.

Remember that you may be asked stereo code after disconnecting battery, have it ready.

If still no luck, then the unit must be removed from the dash to be taken apart, so to remove the stuck disk.

In that case the repair may require replacement of CD drive unit or front panel. When disk does not exject repair done from a local technician may be expensive. Usually better replacing the whole stereo unit.

Regards.

PS: Here the procedure above illustrated in detail. The procedure is described for home DVD players, but it is the same on any optical unit, including in-dash stereo. Naturally , since the unit is an in-car system, you do not have power cord, but you will need to disconnect battery to reset the system: player system won't eject disk.

Cd player doesn't work

If this is a stock radio you pull it out and run it over. those cd players have more issues than Iraq. No there is no reset button on the there. If you are having problems with your stereo you would spend less money if just get a new one. stereo shops have stereos that would work better for you I'm sure. you can get one for $50 -$100 and only pay 40 or 50 for install. take care.

I had the same problem the power button is pushed in. You did not mention if your unit came with a remote control if it did use that to turn your stero on and off. you will not be albe to use any of the buttons on the stereo if the controls are listed on the remote IE; Cd player, radio tape or tuner. try this please. hope this helps

Cd wont eject

You are absolutely right about bose! And GM Delco as well. Try this. I've had 50/50 results. Need 2 peole. One at the nattery, the other at the cd player. Turn the key on, radio will power up. with the radi powered up,disconnect the negative battery cable from veicle. Wait a few minutes. Now this step might be cumbersome. While holding stereo in your hand, push the eject button and HOLD while the other person re-connects the negative power cable back up. Ths will do a reset on the stereo and you may get lucky!

Don't put anymore cd' in it. Your only other option if you want that CD bad enough is to disassemble the case of the stereo and manually move the mechanism to eject it. Hope this helps

My first suggestion is to not purchase "used" electronics from eBay. I bought the same kind of unit from eBay... and mine is broken too. I got a cell phone, car stereo, and a remote.. they were all not working properly when I received them.

Did you try the restart button. It is a small, pin size button on the right-side of the unit near the 4-way select buttons. My player wouldn't eject a cd either, and when I pushed the restart button with a pin, the cd ejected and the unit was ok for playing cds... that's about it
