The camera can be turned on , but the picture taking button will not take a picture when trying to depress it

Mine is doing that same thing, and I have two memory cards, it does it with both, and it worked fine last time I took pictures. Nothing I try fixes it.

It sounds as if either the file allocation table or some data on the card has become corrupted.

Have you got access to another camera (friends or family) that you could try it in?

Have you got a card reader on your PC? If so, you should be able to re-format the card using Windows. (Go to My Computer, right-click on the card reader icon and select format)

Hopefully this will cure the problem. If not, you should be able to change it if it is new.

I can't use any SD card to switch memory from the microscope. It freezes when I insert SD card.

You don't give any brand name or model number of some "microscope" Most microscopes have no SD card slot, so yours must have a camera inside it and a memory recording unit for taking shots.. Contact the maker, whoever that is, for customer support that you already paid for.
That is all that can be suggested from so few details.

I received a new DVR 528. I can work through the menus when the SD card is not inserted. Once I insert the memory card the screen freezes - no buttons work!

Make sure the camera is off before inserting the card. Can your camera use the size card you have or does it have too many GB's? Is the slide switch on the side of the card in the unlocked position?

cameras : My Camera Freezes When I Turn It On Or Take A Picture

P, td, li {font-family: arial, u; font-size:9pt; margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px; word-spacing:1px;} If you camera freezes when you power it on or when you try to take a picture, you may have a defective memory card. To test your camera and the memory card, follow these steps:
  1. Power off your camera.
  2. Remove the battery from your camera. If you have a memory card inside the camera, remove that as well.
  3. Clean out any dust or debris inside the battery compartment, and then re-insert the battery into your camera.
  4. Power your camera on without the memory card installed.
  5. Take a picture.
    • If your camera takes a picture, re-install the memory card, and then go to Step 6.
    • If it does not take a picture, your camera requires service. To set up service, click the Create Online Service Request button below.
  1. Format the memory card in the camera, and then take another picture.
  2. Important: Formatting erases all pictures and other data from the card. If you have pictures on the memory card you want to keep, download those pictures to your computer before you format the memory card.
    • If your camera does not take a picture with the formatted memory card installed, replace the memory card.
    • If the issue still persists after you’ve installed a new memory card, your camera requires service. To set up service, click the Create Online Service Request button below

Pentax otio 33lf camera suddenly won't go

Try removing the card and see if it will turn on with just the internal memory--or try different memory card if you have one.
Had a somewhat similar problem with a new 1GB card when I shut camera off while it was still saving an image. Camera would come on, take a picture all by itself and freeze up. After using a couple of other cards it magically worked on the bad card

Camera wont work when memory card is inserted

I suggest you try to use a different memory card. If it doesn't happen again then it's probably a bad memory card.
