I was given a zenith tv and I cant do a channel search. it also has a lock on it and I cant so a thing. it came with a remote control with no menu button. can you help me???
The "H" model Zenith TVs are hotel/motel sets designed that
a roomer cannot access the menu feature. Your best bet would
be to purchase a name brand universal remote which has the
menu button feature or order an original Zenith master remote
which would not require programming. Once you have a workable
remote which will allow you to access the on-screen menus you
should be able to program the channels.
Hope this helps,

Hello First connect the cable to its cable input socket at rear. Turn the tV On and enter its Menu option window. Press UP or DN button on the remote control to select 'Cable'. Selecte EZ scan [channel search]. The TV must scan for all available channels, and will stop after all the channels has been stored in its memory. You have to wait till the search function stops; no other functions with remote cannot be done, and the set will not respond any external command, either by remote control or by its front panel control, except the mains power ON/OFF switch will work. OK.
If it's an newer Zenith TV(LCD/PLASMA/DLP) it might be that the RC300 does not have the codes for the newer models, but if it's a picture tube TV(CRT) and the zenith codes given to you in the code list are not working try the code search procedure(scans and transmits all codes one at a time)you will have to turn your TV on to continue with this procedure. If you don't have a users manual you can download one from rca.com/accessories/universalremotes. You can also try the codes listed for LG, they could work.
They have an internal battery for transport between rooms so as not to lose any pre-programed channels or info while unplugged. So to beat this you will have to unplug it for a few days and let it clear its memory. Mine needed almost a week but when its turned on after the right amount of time it will ask to do a channel search. So make sure you have it hooked up to cable before running that search or you will have to repeat the previous steps. Hope this helps.
The CORRECT answer is you must purchase a LP702 remote. Google it to find one to buy. You must unlock channels and program the channels fresh.
Some standard zenith remotes allow you to reset the tv by popping off the cover of the remote and pressing an unmarked button.
1. hold in "code search" till light stays on
2. press channel up until tv changes channel 3. press enter as soon as channel changes note: if you pass the right code just use channel down to get back to it
check to see if your t.v. is connected to your cable if it is connected properly and you are sure that every thing is connected .call a tech to repair the t.v. the problem could be in the tuner or IF circuit.good luck.
i'm having the same issue, there has to be a way to access the menu!!!
I have the same problem with the Zenith h27f56s.
Have a universal remote.
The TV will not unlock.
