Good day,
Yes, Frigidaire specifically states any temperature below 55 degrees will unbalance the machine causing the freezer to warm.
This is due to the fact that the thermostat that runs the entire machine is located in the fresh food section. When it reaches it's normal temperature it shuts the entire machine down.
In cold weather it could stay off for the best part of the dy, if not the entire day.
As well. on some model Frigidaire's, they makes a winterizing kit.
It is wired to the thermostat in a manner that heats the thermostat artificially in cold weather to cause it to cycle more.
Contact your local appliance parts house to see if they carry the kit for your machine.
Testimonial: "Thanks,Guru, that seems to be exactly what has happened. I'll try to get the kit asap. Thanks again for solving my problem."
I understand that the outside temperature should be a minimum temp of 55 to keep the refrigerator/freezer working properly, but is there a maximum temp that will affect a refrigerator? We have one in our garage and it gets extremely hot in there in the summer (approx. 85) will that harm it?
