Black soot on bottoms of pans

Wellif you uninstalled and reinstalled the same appliance it should work the same.. thats weird that it changed. however the black soot is usually from flames that are to high. you could try tightening down the orifice where the gas comes out.

GE XL44 and soot from burners

propane burns very dirty.you need to remove the burners and orfices and clean them good with oven cleaner.make sure their rinsed and dried well before installing,this should solve your problem.
