Hi,

The printer is printing alignment page. This will be printed if the printer was reset or if you have changed the ink cartridges. We need to complete the alignment process.

1. Place the printed page on the scanner correctly.
2. Press scan button on the printer.
3. The ON light will start blinking, wait until the ON/OFF light stops blinking.
4. Now the alignment is completed and it should not print anymore untill next cartridge change

Thank you
Rizwan.

How do i switch of align page when installing a new cartridge as it waste paper printing a test page everytime you switch it on. This is for a HP 1300 series

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SupportTaskIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=238320&taskId=110

Click on the 'Automatically check to see if your driver needs updating (MS Windows Only).' box in order to check for latest updates to your driver.

Unfortunately, I looked over the unexpected page output and it didn't list this problem as one of them.

Does it really print a test page every time you switch it on? Or does it only print a test page after installing a new cartridge?

Definitely, the alignment page should be printed everytime a new cartridge is installed due to variations in manufacturing of print cartridges will throw off the alignment everytime a new cartridge is installed.

I'm not sure about the test page, though.

Good luck on this modification of standard operating of hp printers.

Hi, Wonder can you help my printer keeps printing off test page everytime it is turned on. this is only happening since i changed the cartridge, never did this before. thanks

Hi,

Your printer is printing alignment pages, because the cartridge alignment was not completed since you replaced them. Follow the below steps to complete alignment.

  1. Turn the printer OFF and then turn back ON.
  2. Wait until the alignment sheet prints out fully.
  3. Place the alignment test page over the scanner glass.
  4. Press start color scan button.
  5. The printer "power" light will start flashing, indication the alignment process.
  6. After the printer stops flashing, turn off and then ON the printer. It will not print any test pages further.
We need to run alignment test every-time while we replace ink cartridges.

Riztech
