In all likelihood the mangnetron has failed, or perhaps even the Power Supply. You need to have it serviced by a reputable service centre/man. Ensure you get a firm "Quote" before proceeding, and remember these days the cost of repair can equal or exceed the price of a new one.

I have a Panasonic Demension 4 The Genious microwave model NE-9970. The unit has worked perfectly for more than 30 years without incident. This morning it tripped the breaker as soon as I pressed start. I...

That is an odd series of events. Microwave ovens don't have a reset button but they do have a slow blow fuse. It is no point replacing it because you have a more serious short circuit that tripped the breaker immediately. You can't work on Microwave ovens yourself as they are so dangerous inside. Also the case is fixed with special security screws. Panasonic are pretty much the best in the business and I have used many in a commercial kitchens environment. The old ones are much better made than any new one these days, so it is well worth getting it repaired. Pull it out and take in.

I have an LG LMVM2075ST which has worked flawlessly for 5 years. It just stopped working. No lights. Checked breaker, checked outlet, unplugged - plugged back in ... now at the point of troubleshooting...

Unless you are good at this troubleshooting, with a multimeter, circuit diagram, and so forth, I'd take it to a service tech. You may find that a quote will approach the cost of a new one, or that parts are not so easily obtained now.

I'd say a fuse has blown or thermal cutout failed, if everything is dead.

You should be aware that the magnetron circuit in these things generates a lethally high voltage which can be present even when unplugged from the wall.

My SMH9151W Samsung Microwave displays a -SE- or a -5E- and will not operate. I unplugged over night and still will not operate

I had the same issue on a 2010 smh9151w samsung microwave after installing it and using it with no problem for 5 days. The second time we unplugged the microwave and turned the circuit breaker off and on we didn't reset the clock on the microwave so the display shows :0 and it has been working for 7 days straight now. Fingers crossed that this is a long term solution. Hope this helps. Thanks!

Unit dead Unit is dead - suspect blown fuse

Usually, when your microwave oven doesn't work it all, the internal fuse (thermal fuse) is blown. This fuse protects both you and the oven. When it blows, you need to have a qualified appliance repair technician replace it.

The reason for this is that if you do not have any experience and training with microwaves, you can get a SEVERE shock, even if the oven is unplugged. THAT being said, if you still want to know where the fuse is get back to me. good luck.

ALSO, as you may know, a small microwave these days is under fifty bucks at walmart.

GE Sensor Microwave JES1855 died

Mine went dead after about 6 months. I had problems with my breakers and I found out that it was the microwave that blew all of them. I also found out that this perticular microwave is a fire hazard and should be recalled. It has caused me alot of headache. The breakers in my house are brand new and they are put out by GE also. It caused me to loose the food in my freezer, I did not know my freezer had lost power. It would cause my entire lights to go off and then they would come back on. I have checked around and I found out that the power cord on the back of the unit is very loose. I had a person to come in and look at it, he thinks its the power cord.

Ge profile microwave doesn't seem to be heating food real hot. during the last bag of popcorn we tried to pop it never even started popping it, and the microwave stopped and said on the screen...

On GE models, "SENSOR ERROR" appears on the display when:
  • Using the sensor feature, the door was opened before steam could be detected. Do not open the door until stream is sensed and time is shown counting down on the display.
  • Steam was not detected in the maximum amount of time. Use Time Cook to heat for more time.
The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

Otherwise, your sensor may have failed.

Home Circuit Breaker Pops When Door Is Opened

It does sound odd for it to blow the breaker. It should blow the fuse, not the breaker. But looking at the exploded view diagram, I don't even see a fuse! Makes me wonder if this is some foreign model. *grin* In any event, you will need to replace all the door switches since they all have been stressed by the same overcurrent. Also be sure that all the switch mount and door latch parts are activating properly when you open and close the door. The switches (generic replacements) are widely available from local appliance parts stores. If you need any other parts, you can see an exploded view and parts list here: http://www.geappliances.com/shop/prts/
