The larger screw controls the pull weight, that is how many pounds weight on the trigger.

The front smaller screw controls the length of the first stage, whether you want a short first stage or a longer one.

The rear small screw controls the lenght of the second stage which can be reduced to zero.

Something else must be said I thinl:

First stage of the triger;

1 - Unscrewing will result in shorter stage;
2 - I do not consider a short first stage a good thing, sisnce you loose the sense of the second stage.;

Second Stage of the trigger;

1- unscrewing will lead to a stop point, when you reach this stop point, a pressure will result in a shot. From the first stage pass, to the second stage, you will fill some crisps in the way. In my opinion, this is the best set for the triger as you will be able to know you are going to shoot when it stops in the second stage.

The factory shipped beeman 1074 came to me with a loose second stage, I assume Mr. Adrian says this is the 0 adjustment and it is not good for you never know when the shot is going to happen. If you fix this trigger you will notice this is one of the best triggers you have ever dealed with.

Check the trigger guard screws. If the trigger guard has been loosened or removed, it can effect the proper position of the safety actuating lever (the lever in front of the trigger adjustment screw), preventing a full cocking stroke.

I'm looking for a factory manual for a Beeman air rifle(sportsman RS2 series)

Contact Beeman via one of the methods available at the following link:

and let them know what you're looking for. Most all gun manufacturers will provide a free manual for anything they've manufactured. It's a safety thing.

Take care!
