How do I find the path to a network printer in order to install it? I had to reinstall the driver but my boss can't find the disk so I downloaded it from the Xerox website. The add printer wizard wants me to enter the URL for the printer but other than the IP address, I have no clue what to put. Adding the IP address asks for a username and password and we don't have it set up that way. Please - how do I do this? It should be easier than this. I shouldn't need a Xerox certification just to install a driver.

It sounds like whoever set up your network added an administrator code to access.
That driver is pretty much plug and play and sets itself up very easily.
That user name and pass word is not part of the driver setup.

Printer takes forever to print

How is the printer connected to your computer(s)?
If it is USB or network. Try a different cables.

Does your computer run slow also? Low disk space can cause print jobs to print slowly.

Network issues can cause slow printing as well. If your printer is on network and there is a mismatch of 10/100 Mbps speed or Half/Full duplex, the printing can be slow.

If your OS is Windows, remove the printer from Printers and Faxes. Uninstall the driver package if installed separately. Download the latest drivers and install them and reinstall the printer.

I cannot get my printer to reinstall with the CD that came with it...I keep getting message..."The file hpoc5503.gdp on PDL_common is needed. Type the path where the file is located then click...

You should remove the print software for your printer using the Add/Remove programs. Then you should go to the manufacturers website and download the latest driver for your printer and operating system. Download them, and install. I don't know why you are getting that message, but it sounds like a fresh install and a new driver will work. I never use the drivers that come on disk. They are sometimes quite old.
